DAY 1 SINGAPORE MOSCOW (Meals on Board Lunch/Dinner) Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Moscow. Upon arrival, embark on a sightseeing tour of the fabled Red Square, the centre of this 850-year-old city. Next, visit the beloved St Basils Cathedral where its whimisical shape, like a flame of a bonfire rising to the sky, is an absolute sight to behold. If time permits, check out the GUM department store. Thereafter, head to the ornate Moscow Metro, which Stalin called the peoples palaces. End the day by sauntering along Arbat Street.
DAY 2 MOSCOW (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) This morning, visit the Kremlin, a city within a city adorned with medieval towers, cathedrals, palaces and a big bell tower, and the official residence of the President of Russia. Visit the 3 renowned Kremlin cathedrals, Cathedrals of the Assumption, Annunciation and Archangel. Next, discover all that the Moscow Vodka Museum has to offer, where you will tour their facilities, which includes an informative lesson on the history of vodka in Russia. Celebrate good times by tasting classical and modern vodka at the end of the tour. Conclude your tour with a visit to Izmaylovo Market, a definitive souvenir venue in Moscow. Izmaylovo Market is where you can find all the iconic Russian souvenirs such as matryoshka dolls, fur hats and lacquer boxes. Following which, spend the evening witnessing the world-class acts and performances by the legendary Moscow Circus. Note Admission to the Kremlin cathedrals is subject to opening days.
DAY 3 MOSCOW TVER NOVGOROD (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) After breakfast, depart Moscow. You will pass Klin, once home to the famous Russian composer, Tchaikovsky and yes, he is the musical maestro who created the riveting and enigmatic aural soundtracks behind Swan Lake. Drive through birchwood forests and traditional Russian villages to reach Tver on the bank of the mighty Volga River, the longest river in Europe. Thereafter, cross the vast Russian plains and arrive in Novgorod, a city of great historical wealth in Russia. The 1,000-year-old town on the shores of Limen Lake is a major centre of Russian culture.
DAY 4 NOVGOROD ST PETERSBURG (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) Embark on a city tour of Novgorod includes the 11th-century St Sophia Cathedral and the Kremlin. Set within the Kremlin, St Sophia Cathedral was inspired by the Byzantine church in Constantinople, which is the present day Turkey. The west doorway or Sigtuna Gates, which is one of the buildings masterpieces, was brought back as a trophy from a Swedish fortress in 1187. The oak panels are doused with bronze plaques depicting scenes from the Old and New Testaments. Continue your journey to St Petersburg, the most western city in Russia and also its cultural capital. Be treated to an entertaining folklore show where you will be served vodka and fourchettes during intervals, in the evening.
DAY 5 ST PETERSBURG (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) Begin your morning with a visit to one of the most integral buildings in St Petersburg, the revered Peter and Paul Fortress. Next, continue to St Isaacs Cathedral, the largest Orthodox cathedral in Russia. Do not miss the Cruiser Aurora and the Memorial to the Siege of Leningrad which serve as a poignant reminder of the fateful events of World War II. See the splendid Cathedral of Kazan before you proceed to tour the spectacular The State Hermitage Museum, which is one of the worlds largest museums and was once the Tsars winter residential palace.
DAY 6 ST PETERSBURG (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) Visit the fabulous gardens and fountains of Peter the Greats summer residence at Petrodvorets, reminiscent of a sparkling diamond of unique beauty, now known as Peterhof. Be mesmerized by the Great Cascade, which cuts into the natural shores terrace, and acts as a pedestal for the Great Palace and also the entire attractions focal centre. The palace, stretching for nearly 300 metres and blending with the natural environment, is a superb example of the harmony of earthly and heavenly features. The dcor of all the rooms in the palace, executed by Rastrelli, corresponds to the complex ceremonies of court etiquette with a deliberately pompous theatrical replication of life in the palace in a presentation that is majestically regal and luxuriously beautiful.
