Several UG students admitted during 2001 – 2002 and by lateral entry admission
in 2002 -2003 and also PG students admitted during 2002 - 2003 have represented that
due to medical reasons they were not able to complete the course of study within the
stipulated maximum period.
Special permission is granted for extension of time beyond the maximum
permitted period of study for the following categories of students to admitted through
• UG students admitted during 2001 – 2002.
• UG students admitted through lateral entry during 2002 – 2003.
• PG students admitted during 2002 – 2003 and one yet complete the
programmes.
They are permitted to complete the remaining period of their study within 2 years
starting from December 2008 as a special case.
This is for your kind information. You are also requested to take necessary
action immediately to inform the interested students so that the students may be in a
position to complete their course of study within the December 2010.

THE GRANT OF EXTENSION OF TIME BEYOND THE MAXIMUM
PERMITED PERIOD OF STUDY TO STUDENTS OF AFFILIATED
COLLEGES FOR UG DEGREE PROGRAMME WHO WERE ADMITTED
DURING THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2001 – 2002 AND UNDER LATERAL
ENTRY ADMISSION IN 2002 – 2003 UNDER REGULATIONS 2001 AND
ALSO PG STUDENTS WHO WERE ADMITTED DURING THE
ACADEMIC YEAR 2002 – 2003 HAVE NOT COMPLETED A FEW
SEMESTERS OF COURSE WORK DUE TO MEDICAL GROUNDS.

PREAMBLE
Several UG students admitted during 2001 – 2002 and by lateral entry
admission in 2002 -2003 and also PG students have represented that due
to medical reasons they were not able to complete the course of study
within the stipulated maximum period.
Such representations were scrutinized and found genuine as they were
immobilized from attending courses due to severe accidents and prolonged
hospitalization. Most of the UG students have represented that they have
to complete the courses from V / VI semester onwards and some of them
have to continue from VII semester onwards. Similarly PG students have
also represented to permit them to complete the courses which they have
discontinued due to various reasons.

ORDER
After careful consideration the reasons stated in the submissions made by
the candidates, the University has granted permission to the UG candidates
who were admitted in the year 2001 – 2002 and by lateral entry in 2002-
2003 and also PG students who were admitted in the year 2002 – 2003 and
discontinued their studies on medical grounds, to complete the remaining
semesters of their study within 2 years starting from December 2008 – May
2009 session.

The candidates of Affiliated Engineering Colleges who come under the

above category are requested to contact the Principals of the respective
colleges and Directorate of Technical Education for permission to get
readmission.
