Maine Majestix Field Hockey, has 24 years of coaching experience. A University of Maine graduate and inductee into UMOs Sports Hall of Fame, Bernatchez was a Division I Regional All-American selection. She made the 1991 United States Field Hockey squad and was a U.S. Olympic Festival participant. Inducted in the Maine Field Hockey Association Hall of Fame as a player, Amy is also a Region 1 USAFH Futures coach. HEAD COACH Andrea Thebarge is the assistant athletic director, head eld hockey coach at Thomas College, Waterville, Maine. Andrea has served as both assistant and head coach at University of Maine. A graduate of Northeastern University, Andrea has NCAA Final Four experience. She was USFHA Futures program regional coaching director in Massachusetts, as well as head coach of U19 site, HC National Futures tournament assistant coach and site director. Andrea was inducted into the State of Maine Field Hockey Association Hall of Fame in 2009. Complete bios and staf information available online ADDITIONAL STAFF Area high school coaches as well as college coaches and players are staffed to coach at the camp. Staff to camper ratio will be at least 1:7. All staff members will be friendly and positive with the players. THOMAS COLLEGE Thomas College boast the nest turf elds in New England. Beautiful grass elds, new dining hall and eld house! FYI A camp store will be open during the day with food and drinks, as well as apparel and equipment. Players receive a written evaluation at the conclusion of camp. Certied athletic trainers will be on site all week. We will provide an atmosphere for new players to learn the basic skills and strategies of eld hockey, and for more experienced players to take their game to the next level. All players will be challenged according to skill level. Videotape analysis will be available to all high school level players. Instructors will focus on both offensive and defensive skills. Goalkeepers will be provided with small group instruction. SESSION #1 Overnight Camp at Thomas College: July 13-17, 2014 Girls ages 12-18 are invited to train with us! Groups will divided up into elementary, middle school, JV and Varsity levels. You will be challenged every morning with an intense skills session, in the afternoon we will focus on game strategy and in the evening you will showcase your new skills and strategy through game play. In addition, every athlete will spend one morning session at the optional ropes course that is within walking distance from the college. All campers will benet from the challenges of the ropes course. Learning to take calculated risks, believing in yourself and trusting your teammates are valuable lessons learned on the ropes course that you can carry onto the eld. Daily Lectures: The campers will have three lectures during camp. These lectures will focus on some of the other important aspects of being an athlete. One will be on nutrition, one will be on the college recruiting process and opportunities in eld hockey and the nal one will be a surprise local celebrity that will share his or her experience in sports and will be sure to inspire you! SESSION #2 Day Camp at Thomas College: July 21-25, 2014 Girls age 6- 14 are invited to attend day camp. Being a camp that caters to younger players, we feel it is our responsibility to make sure that all of our campers become fundamentally sound. Camp will begin at 9 AM each morning and end at 4 PM. Lunch will be provided to the campers each day. Mornings will begin with a skills session. Afternoons will consist of a lecture, a strategy session followed by game play from 3-4 PM. Parents and Coaches are always invited to observe camp. HOUSING AND MEALS All overnight campers will reside in Thomas dormitories and eat in the Thomas dining halls. In addition, Thomas Security will be monitoring the campus 24 hours a day. The rst meal will be dinner on July 13th, and the last meal will be lunch on July 17th. ROOMMATES You can make your roommate request when you register online. The camp staff will try to honor all requests, but there is no guarantee.
