REDUCING YOUR PROPERTY TAX BURDEN
Senator Norcross' offices are set up to help you with your Senior Freeze and
Homestead Rebate forms. These programs benefit over 18,000 seniors who receive
an average of $1,200 per household.
ACCESS TO QUALITY HEALTHCARE OPTIONS
Senator Norcross has supported initiatives to include New Jersey residents in the
Affordable Care Act and Medicaid Expansion. Now that these measures are taking
effect, our office is ready to help you access the quality and affordable healthcare
options available to you.
HELPING MIDDLE CLASS FAMILIES CARE FOR LOVED ONES
Understanding the enormous cost of caring for loved ones who are sick, Senator
Norcross introduced the Caregiver Tax Credit, which provides property tax relief to
middle-class families.
PROTECTING OUR VETERANS
Seeking to lower the veteran unemployment rate in New Jersey, Senator
Norcross Veterans Set-Aside encourages local governments to award
contracts to veteran-owned or employed businesses. He also passed
legislation holding the place of an active duty service member on the Civil
Service list. No one should miss a job opportunity because they are
protecting our country.
PROVIDING SAFE HAVENS
In the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, Senator Norcross heard from his
constituents about the need for dedicated emergency shelters equipped
with alternative emergency power generators. He introduced the Safe
Shelter Act which requires all county emergency management
coordinators to ensure that every temporary emergency shelter has
access to an emergency power generator, potable water and a sewage
disposal plan.

CONSTITUENT
Getting the proper tax relief...
A gentleman reached out to Senator Norcross office for assistance
with his property taxes. Upon reaching out to the State Board of
Taxation, we discovered that the base year for his Homestead
Rebate was set too high. Upon resetting his base year to its original
2003 assessment, the gentleman was eligible for a rebate of over
$1,200.
Caring for our seniors...
A constituent had trouble transferring his father to a hospice care
facility closer to his home. After discussions with the facility on
behalf of the constituent, Senator Norcross office was able to
secure the transfer. This helped the constituent more easily
supervise his fathers care, and gave his father greater peace of
mind.
Providing for our military families...
A recent widow was unsure of whether she was eligible for
veteran's spouse benefits she was eligible for. Senator Norcross
office reached out to the Office of Veterans Affairs and as a result,
the constituent now receives an additional $80 per month.
Helping residents access the programs available to
them to help provide property tax relief, improve
healthcare and gain the benefits they deserve.

Tax break proposed for
seniors' caregivers
South Jersey legislators want to provide
a tax break for people who support a
senior family member in their home.
The measure is intended to help baby
boomers who now face the need to care
for aging parents. Estimates say some
1.7 million New Jerseyans provide
caregiver services.
