Dear Sir/Madam,

You are aware that the University had decided in its emergent Academic Council and
Executive Council meetings for the restructuring of the erstwhile four year undergraduate
programme 2013-14 to three year undergraduate programme for the students already enrolled
in the 2013-14 programme. The University had formed a Committee of Principals to advise on
this restructuring. In view of the recommendations given below, you are required to call an
emergent meeting of Committee of Courses and send your recommendations in consonance
with the following recommendations by 12th July, 2014.


1. The Committee of Principals has advised the following structure for BA/ B.Sc./ B.Com/ BMS
Honours Courses:
Semester Main Subject Papers Allied Courses

Therefore, the Committee of Courses of respective departments are required to
expeditiously organize the remaining fourteen papers for the main subject (Erstwhile DC-I
papers excluding the two research methodology papers) in proper sequence (from amongst
the DC-I papers approved in 2013-14) so as to ensure academic and pedagogical lucidity.
No new papers should be created/framed.

2. The Committee of Courses should also recommend on allied Courses for third and fourth
semester (one for each semester) which may be picked up from amongst the existing DC-II
papers of other subjects.


3. For Bachelor in Management Studies (Hons.), the Committee recommended 16 papers in
semesters Ill to VI which may include papers of the erstwhile DC-I and DC-II ourses offered
by the Faculty of Management Studies. Therefore, Committee of courses may recommend
the appropriate order of papers from amongst the approved papers of DC-I and DC-II.



4. The Committee of Principals has advised the following structure for B.Tech. in Computer
Sciences, Electronics, Polymer Sciences, Food Technology and Instrumentation:

Therefore, the respective departments/Committee of Courses are requested to recommend
the appropriate order of papers of core discipline from amongst the approved papers of
2013-14 (DC-I). Also the Committee of Courses should also recommend three papers in
Basic Science out of all the erstwhile DC-II papers of which two should be included in the
third and fourth semester. The one paper of basic sciences may be suggested for semester
Fifth to Eighth.


5. The concerned departments Committee of Courses offering B.Tech courses may also
consult experts from engineering institution to recommend three papers of Allied
Engineering Discipline to be offered from Semester Fifth to Eighth. This may be done at a
later date.

This may be treated as most urgent and the recommendations of the Committee of Courses
on points 1to 4 should positively reach the office of Registrar by 12th July 2014 (5.00 p.m.).
