Minimum & Maximum Flow Rate Minimum & Maximum Flow Rate
Minimum flow rate
The pump must not run against closed discharge valve as this
will cause an increase in temperature/formation of steam in the p
pump.
This may cause shaft damage, impeller erosion, short life y g , p ,
of bearings, damage to stuffing boxes or mechanical shaft seals
due to stress or vibration.
The minimum flow rate must be at least 10 % of the max. flow
rate stated on the pump nameplate.
Maximum flow rate Maximum flow rate
The maximum flow rate must not exceed the value stated on the
nameplate. If the maximum flow rate is exceeded, cavitation and
overload may occur overload may occur.

F d ti B Foundation Base
The purpose of the foundation base:
a) To provide positive anchoring of the pumpset onto ) g
the ground or building structure.
b) To absorb of any normal strains or shock, Poor
foundation contributes a lot of noise and vibration
problems problems
Recommendation
) T i t ll th t f d ti hi h i a) To install the pump on a concrete foundation which is
heavy enough to provide permanent and rigid support for
the entire pump.
b) As a rule of thumb, the weight of the concrete foundation b) As a rule of thumb, the weight of the concrete foundation
should be 3-5 times the weight of the complete pump
unit.
c) For silent operation is particularly important, we
recommend a foundation with a mass up to 5 times that
of the complete pump unit.

Pouring of foundation
1 P th f d ti ith t i t ti t ithi 19 32 1. Pour the foundation without interruptions to within 19-32
mm of the final level.
2. Use vibrators to ensure that the concrete is evenly
distributed. The top surface should be well scored and
grooved before the concrete sets This provides a bonding grooved before the concrete sets. This provides a bonding
surface for the grout, shims, lowerbase frame, nuts
and washers.
3. Embed foundation bolts in the concrete as shown in the
picture picture
4. Allow enough bolt length to reach through grout, shims,
lower base frame, nuts and washers.
