These primary resources provide tools or trainings created by the company WebAIM and
one government resource. They are closely related to the NETS in a variety of ways. All of the
resources can be linked to each of the NETS, but overall they primarily relate to Facilitate and
Inspire Student Learning and Creativity by modeling a collaborative environment which includes
more students with diverse needs. Several of the resources also promote, support, and model
innovative thinking and inventiveness. For example, the WAVE Toolbar is an innovative and
inventive way to promote accessibility of information for students who utilize computer screen
readers. This leads to the next NET standard, Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and
Responsibility. Creating tools and trainings to educate others how to create accessible
information definitely contributes to engaging awareness of other cultures through digital
communication. These resources help to develop technology enriched learning environments that
allow students requiring specific accommodations to participate and set their own educational
goals. Many of the tools provided in these resources create opportunities to address the needs of
all learners by providing equal access to information through digital tools and resources. This not
only impact students but a variety of communities meeting the needs of a diverse audience. In
turn, this also promotes and models digital etiquette and social interactions related to the use of
technology. This is done through facilitating new effective digital tools to support student
success and innovation. The unique training provided within these resources is primarily targeted
toward instructors or teachers. This correlates to the NET standard to engage in Professional
Growth and Leadership. These resources contribute to the effectiveness of the teaching
profession, schools, and communities by creating an opportunity to collaborate with a
community of learners that otherwise may have not been able to participate. The tools provided
within these resources allow individuals to exhibit leadership through using technology to
improving student learning throughout more communities.

These creative commons web resources are primarily based on sharing information with
the provision that it cannot be used for commercial purposes. A majority of these resources are
from postsecondary institutions that share instructions or access to adaptive technology with
others to increase use of innovative digital technology in more communities. These resources
relate to all of the NET standards in a variety of ways. The NETS which these resources
collaboratively link to the most are Model Digital Age Work and Learning, Engage in
Professional Growth and Leadership, and Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and
Responsibility. Since a majority of these web resources are generated from educational
institutions they are expanding knowledge and tools among a broader community. This
establishes a relationship among not only the diverse communities within the institution, but also
on a greater scale. This creates inclusion among students, teachers, and other individuals who
access their websites. Each exhibits leadership by merging existing and innovative digital tools
for real world application. Ultimately, this contributes to the effectiveness of the teaching
profession as a whole. In addition, this also contributes to community building through providing
resources to a broader audience for utilization in other communities as well. Almost all of the
resources from educational institutions model digital citizenship and etiquette by giving proper
credit for each resource utilized. This helps to establish greater communities by networking with
colleagues and students of other cultures. Through this process, a greater sense of community
forms leading to more responsible use of innovative technology. These resources not only
educate a variety of communities but they facilitate collaboration among students, peers, and
parents who otherwise may not have the knowledge that these tools and resources even exist.
Accessible technology is not at the forefront of most conversations or media publicity.
Therefore, the majority of the population is unaware that such tools even exist.

Collectively these resources bring forth a collaborative effort that spans wider than ever
before, to provide accessibility to all communities. These resources differ between organizations,
government regulations, and training for educators. All of which are relatable to the NETS
through a variety of different ways. One of the main correlations to explore is the first resource
by the Association on Higher Education And Disability (AHEAD). This resource provides a
variety of professional developments concerning higher education and disabilities. It promotes
growth and leadership within the community of educators and administrative professionals
throughout higher education. It collaborates on creating standards in higher education to provide
equal access of information to individuals with disabilities. The next resource, Teaching Across
Curriculum, provides professional development to help educators incorporate technology into
their curriculum. One may think this is primarily just for students however; it also includes
faculty, staff, and parents that have disabilities as well. It relates to the NETS by demonstrating
leadership in community building through a vision of infusing technology to expand
collaboration and the skills of others. Several of the other resources provide tools that transform
documents into accessible information. For instance, the Microsoft resource demonstrates some
of the latest innovative technology on the market. This relates to the NETS by Promoting and
Modeling Digital Citizenship and Responsibility. These tools address the diverse needs of users
applying strategies to create accessibility to include all learners. Another resource by Jim
Thatcher relates to the NETS by teaching educators how to utilize technology to customize
learning activities to meet the diverse needs, learning styles, and abilities of all students. In turn,
this contributes to increasing the effectiveness of the teaching profession, revitalizing schools,
and communities. From organizations providing professional development to corporations with
innovative technology making education accessible to new communities, all of these resources
seek to advance the field of education through the standards set by the NETS.
