StartingJune1st,2009,longstayvisaholderswillbeallowedtoresideinFranceforupto12
monthsaccordingtothevalidityoftheirvisaandpurposeofstay.Theywillnolongerberequiredto
obtainaresidencepermit("cartedesjour")fromtheFrenchlocalauthorities("Prfecture")aslongas
theirvisaisvalid.
However,longstayvisaholderswillhavetoregistertotheFrenchOfficeofImmigrationand
Integration(OFII)duringthefirstthreemonthsoftheirstayinFrance.Forfurtherinformationplease

Pleasenotethatthenewregulationsapplicablefromthe1stofJune2009willrequirealonger
