2.1 Intrcduct|cn tc tbe Ccntrc| Pane|
The contro| pane| is designed to provide user Iriend|iness Ior both the
insta||er and the user. Programming is usua||y unnecessary, as the Iactory
settings have been careIu||y se|ected to Iit most app|ications. Hovever
programmab|e parameters a||ov the comp|ete contro| over the generating
set. Programmed parameters are stored in a Non Vo|ati|e Memory and
thus a|| inIormation is retained even in the event oI comp|ete |oss oI

2.2 Mcunt|ng tbe Un|t
The unit is designed Ior pane| mounting. The user shou|d not be ab|e to
access parts oI the unit other than the Iront pane|.
Mount the unit on a I|at, vertica| surIace. The unit Iits into a standard
pane| meter opening oI 140x68 mi||imeters. BeIore mounting, remove the

2.? Per|cd|c Ma|ntenance Pequest D|s|ay
This |ed is designed to he|p the periodic maintenance oI the generator to
be made consistent|y.
The periodic maintenance is basica||y carried out aIter a given engine
hours (Ior examp|e 200 hours), but even iI this amount oI engine hours is
not Iu|Ii||ed, it is perIormed aIter a given time |imit (Ior examp|e 12
months).
The DKC-205 has both programmab|e engine hours and maintenance time
|imit. The engine hours is programmab|e betveen 0 and 750 hours at 50-
hour steps, the time |imit is programmab|e betveen 0 and 15 months. lI
any oI the programmed va|ue is zero, this means that the parameter vi||
not be used. For examp|e P19=200 and P20=0 means that DKC-205
vi|| request maintenance every 200 engine hours, but there vi|| be no
time |imit.
The remaining engine hours and the remaining time |imit are kept stored in
a non-vo|ati|e memory and are not modiIied by pover supp|y Iai|ures.
When the engine hours or the time |imit is over, the Periodic Maintenance
Pequest |ed (red) vi|| start to I|ash. To turn oII the |ed, the STOP key
shou|d be he|d pressed Ior 10 seconds. ln this case the digita| disp|ay vi||
shov SEP.

2.B A|arms
A|arms indicate an abnorma| situation in the generating set and most oI
them cause the engine to stop immediate|y.
lI an a|arm occurs, the re|ated LED vi|| turn on and iI the a|arm re|ay
option is se|ected, the a|arm re|ay vi|| be activated. lI the ALAPM MUTE
key is pressed, the a|arm re|ay vi|| be deactivated.
Except the emergency stop, a|arm LEDs vi|| stay on and disab|e the
operation oI the generating set even iI the a|arm source is removed. ln
order to reset the a|arm condition, Iirst choose OFF mode then resume to
the previous mode oI operation.

CHAPGE ALAPM: lt turns on in case oI a charging a|ternator Iai|ure. This

FPEOUENCY ALAPM: lt is on vhen the a|ternator Irequency is out oI the
programmed |imits Ior a |onger period than the programmed timer.
A|ternator Irequency vi|| be contro||ed 4 seconds aIter the generator
contactor is on.
VCLTAGE ALAPM: lt is on vhen at |east one oI the a|ternator phase

contro||ed 4 seconds aIter the generator contactor is on.
FAIL TC STAPT: lt is on iI the engine cannot start to run aIter the
programmed number oI start attempts. This a|arm vi|| be erased vhen the
mains are on in order to keep the engine ready Ior the next mains Iai|ure.
EMEPGENCY STCP ALAPM: lt arises iI emergency stop button (or Iront
pane| STOP key) has been pushed. This a|arm is not |atched. The a|arm
condition disappears vhen the signa| is removed. This input is a|so used
externa||y to prevent the operation oI the generator (Ior ex. by a timer).
DC SUPPLY ALAPM: lt is on vhen DC Supp|y vo|tage is above the
programmed |imit. lt arises at the end oI 2 seconds de|ay period. lt does
not occur iI DC Supp|y vo|tage goes back be|ov the |imit beIore the end
oI the de|ay period. This protection is particu|ar|y designed against charge
a|ternator Iai|ures.
SPAPE-1 ALAPM: lt turns on vhen a signa| comes Irom the spare-1 a|arm
input.
SPAPE-2 ALAPM: lt turns on vhen a signa| comes Irom the spare-2 a|arm
input
SPAPE-3 ALAPM: lt turns on vhen a signa| comes Irom the spare-3 a|arm

The modes oI operation are se|ected by pushing the Iront pane| keys. lI
the mode is changed vhi|e the engine is running, it vi|| be stopped. Do
not change the operation mode vhi|e the generator is in operation.

CFF: ln this mode, the mains contactor vi|| be energized iI mains phase

MANUAL: lt is used to start and stop the generator manua||y. lI the
manua| mode is se|ected, the Iue| re|ay vi|| be activated and the generator
vi|| be ready to be started.
STAPT: lt is used to manua||y start the generator un|imited times.
ln order to start, it is needed not to have the oi| pressure. When
the generator phase vo|tages are present or the generator
Irequency goes over 10 Hz, starting vi|| be automatica||y disab|ed

When a|| the mains phase vo|tages are vithin the |imits, the engine vi||
continue to run Ior the mains vaiting period. At the end oI this period the
generator contactor is deactivated and the mains contactor vi|| be
energized. lI a coo|ing period is given, the generator vi|| continue to run
during coo|ing period. At the end oI the period, the Iue| so|enoid vi|| be
de-energized and the diese| vi|| stop. The unit vi|| be ready Ior the next
mains Iai|ure.
TEST: lt is used to test the generator vhen the mains are on, or keep the
generator vaiting in the emergency backup mode. The operation oI the
generator is simi|ar to the AUTO mode, but the mains contactor vi|| not
be deactivated iI the mains are not oII. lI the mains are oII, mains
contactor vi|| be deactivated and the generator contactor vi|| be

activated. When the mains are on again, a changeover to the mains vi||
be made, but the engine is kept running. ln order to stop the engine, push
the OFF button.
PPCGPAM: lt is used to program the timers, operationa| |imits and the
