Notes

I found the images presented were representative of each of the categories. The app contains
a quiz that is characteristic of the images. The quiz contains 164 questions. I feel for the cost
of the app and for it to be viable study guide, it needs more explanation. Although there are
nine categories available for students to study, there is no information about the categories.
For example, Ancient Greek structures are in Doric, Ionic and Corinthian styles. I feel that an
explanation of these and an example would help students more readily identify each of the
works and better prepare them for the exam.
The College Board suggests that students use previous exams and provides test taking tips and
study skills. Previously, AP exam review books were suggested to use as extra help. If more
information were provided on the app, it would be a viable study resources.
According to the course objectives, the app presents approximately 30 passages with 10
questions for each passage. The app could use editorial information about the various
documentation styles available for students as well as the analysis of graphics and visual
images. In order for students to really benefit from the app, I feel it needs to include
examples and instructions. One of the main components of this course is the composition of
an essay. An instructive tutorial would give students another aid. A structured outline would
4
demonstrate for the students and provide a visual aid. Definitions of each type of composition
would give students a reference guide.
The AP Psychology app contain 14 categories all aligning consistently with the objectives set
forth by the AP College Board. After reviewing much material surrounding the AP classes,
many of the available exam review resources provide reference information and additional
details pertaining to the subject at hand. The AP Psychology app provided 8-21 questions in
each category. The exam provides a sentence of detail whether the question is right or
wrong. I feel explanations in each of the categories and perhaps an audio version of the app
would help students achieve their goals on the exam.

Without the formulas, students are not able to have all of the skills needed to pass the exam.
While the app contains questions and answers for the students, there are no problems
available in the app that prepare them for the calculations they will complete in the exam.
An explanation of definitions would help students as well. Each of the categories need more
information and details. The app contains no information for the free response portion of the
exam.
I believe more information and questions are needed in order for students to establish
proficiency in solving multi-step and real-world applications. Also the app did not address the
5
rewriting of slope intercept. To further engage students, a demonstration and step by step
procedure of the problems would benefit the students in mastery of the course. The app
contains 13 topics and 418 questions. The questions range in from low to high complexity
while most seem to be in the low to mid level of complexity range.
One issue I found with app was the Study Aid Mode. An explanation would be helpful for
students as they enter the app and to establish what is available for them while using the app
(formulas/definitions). Students must click on each Icon for an explanation of the tool. I
believe it would be beneficial and more user friendly for students to have an introduction to
the app.
