Travis Pastrana

Travis Pastranas multi-faceted motorcycle career began in the
Motocross and Supercross series, with championships claimed in the 125
MX and SX classes during the 2000 and 2001 seasons. Though TPs racing
career sputtered after moving on to the premier 250 class, his position as
the most recognized off-road rider in the US was just beginning.
ome-schooled throughout high school, Pastrana graduated when he
was just 15.
Jumped his Suzuki into the San Francisco Bay during the 1999 X Games;
won a gold medal there, but had to forfeit $10,000 in prize money
to retrieve the bike, pay fines and donate to the Save the Bay
charity.
Landed the first-ever double backflip in motocross competition history
at the 2006 X Games.
Past injuries include multiple concussions, a dislocated spine and a
broken pelvis, hip, foot, ankle, thumb, elbow, fingers and wrists.
Nicknamed "The Gimp" and "Wonder Boy."
High-octane hobbies include skydiving, rally-car racing and base
jumping.
Pastrana made his real
name in Freestyle
Motocross competitions,
including the X Games.
Pastrana has nine X-
Game gold medals and is
regarded as an innovator
and pioneer of FMX,
constantly pushing the
envelope with tricks
including popularizing the
backflip as an FMX
staple. One of the most iconic moments in Pastranas X Games career
was in 2006, when he pulled off the first double back flip.

While Pastrana continues to compete at select FMX competitions,
including the occasional X Games appearance, his new sport is rally car
racing. To date, Pastrana has four Rally America titles to his credit, racing
for Subaru. His rally car exploits include multiple appearances in the
yearly Race of Champions, as well as X Games rally car races. Pastrana
also dabbles with his own sponsored monster truck.

widespread crossover appeal. His popularity has only soared higher with
the success of his hit MTV show, Nitro Circus.
