This document describes a finger print based ATM authentication and money management system. The system aims to provide more secure transactions by requiring customers to verify their identity with a fingerprint instead of just a PIN number. It involves designing a computer with a fingerprint database to register customer details and fingerprints. When making a withdrawal, the customer would input their fingerprint, which would be matched to their account details in the database before allowing access to the ATM.

ABSTRACT AIM The main aim of the project is to provide security for the Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) using a finger print based module which will provide a secured money transaction. OBJECTIVE An automated teller machine or automatic teller machine (ATM) is a computerized telecommunications device that provides a financial institution's customers a secure method of performing financial transactions in a public space without the need for a human cler or ban teller. !sing an ATM" customers can access their ban accounts in order to mae cash withdrawals (or credit card cash advances) and chec their account balances. Many ATMs also allow people to deposit cash or checs" transfer money between their ban accounts" pay bills" or purchase goods and services. #n most modern ATMs" the customer identifies him or herself by inserting a plastic card with a magnetic stripe or a plastic smart card with a chip" that contains his or her card number and some security information" such as an e$piration date or %&% (%&&). The customer then verifies their identity by entering a password" often referred to as a '() ('ersonal (dentification )umber) of four or more digits. !pon successful entry of the '()" the customer may perform a transaction. After the transaction is complete" a transaction record is printed" usually consisting of the action taen" date and time" location" any applicable fees" and available balance. (f the number is entered incorrectly several times in a row (usually three attempts per card insertion)" some ATMs will attempt to retain the card as a security precaution to prevent an unauthorized user from discovering the '() by guesswor. %aptured cards are often destroyed if the ATM owner is not the card issuing ban" as non*customer's identities cannot be reliably confirmed. (n our 'roject" we are going to design %omputer based +inger 'rint enabled ATM ,ystem * -esign . (mplementation. /e are going to have a '% with all fingerprint database" which will register the %ustomers details . %ustomers ATM -etails. To access the ATM" the %ustomer will input his 0 her finger" if it matches" then his 0 her details will be displayed in the %omputer. ,imilarly if the finger print not matches" then it will give an alarm. (f the user is not registered" it will show the message that" you are not the authorized user to access the ATM MICRO CONTROLLER FEATURES (n our project we are using the AT12%340AT12,34 micro* controller. The AT12%34 provides the following standard features5 67 bytes of +lash memory" 481 bytes of 9AM" :8 (0# lines" two 4;*bit timer0counters" five vector two*level interrupt architecture" a full duple$ serial port" on*chip oscillator and cloc circuitry. (n addition" the AT12%34 is designed with static logic for operation down to zero fre<uency and supports two software selectable power saving modes. The (dle Mode stops the %'! while allowing the 9AM" timer0counters" serial port and interrupt system to continue functioning. The 'ower* down Mode saves the 9AM contents but freezes the oscillator disabling all other chip functions until the ne$t hardware reset. BLOCK DIAGRAM Development Tool 7eil (-=>s MCU
