Guide to free SAP study material

There is an enormous amount of information about SAP on the internet. Many websites from SAP
AGs partners, third parties, SAP professionals and others provide vast amounts of information.

On top of that, SAP AG themselves provide in-depth SAP information and most of it is free.

2.1. SAP Help Portal http://help.sap.com/

This is one of the widely used sites with in-depth technical information about all of SAPs solutions. It is
an online library and an ideal place to look up details. Most of it is freely accessible but some
information is on other SAP websites which can require a password, depending on the target
audience. For example certified consultants or SAP Partners have more access privileges such as
downloading specific software via the SAP Service Marketplace.

The free information on other (non-SAP) websites is often merely a link to one of the URLs in the
SAP Help Portal. Beware of copyright issues.


2.2. SAP Design Guild http://www.sapdesignguild.org/

The aim of this website is to centralize (user interface) design expertise and to make it available to
everyone. SAP AG as well as the SAP community share design information through four main subject
areas:
Resources: Guidelines, papers, and more
Editions: Collections of SAP- and UI-related articles
Community: Articles, book lists & reviews, and more
Goodies: Glossaries, links, and other useful stuff

This is a community of developers, users, and everyone else involved with SAP business solutions.
Most of the content requires a login and password. This can be obtained for free by registering at

The SAP Community network is a huge effort by SAP AG to bring together SAP know-how. Many

and partners, often login is required although again much of the information and downloads is free.
