This gain value will always be in the range of [0,1], and
represents the amount by which the amplitude of the sig-
nal should be scaled to simulate decay of sound due to dis-
tance. The additional control parameter, , helps to control
the steepness of the exponential decay. When = 2, this
model is identical to the natural inverse square law (Rossing
1990).
The angle of incidence, , describes the difference be-
