Montage
Photodesign
Description: A montage used for spreading the beautiful message of music made by
blending two images and using typography.
Objective: Demonstrate advanced photoshop skills by blending two images in
photoshop.
Process: I first went out and took photos that went along with my theme of music to
go with my quote. I took the images with my Nikon p510 camera. I then cropped and
edited the images. I then chose to insert the quote and used two different fonts to
help the words stand out and added a box behind the quote to help the words stand
out. With the box I chose used the feather and 20% opacity on it so it would blend. I
then inserted the second photo of the light and I added a mask on that image. With
black paint and a soft brush I painted away the hardness of the image with 7% opacity.

Photodesign
Description: Learn how to take good images and incorporate them with a color
scheme into a photo design.
Objective: Use and edit my own photography to create a design in photoshop.
Process: For this image I decided a color scheme of pink Monochromatic and
went out and took the image. I chose to take this image because of the pink flowers
and the vivid colors. I used my Nikon p510 camera to capture it. I edited my photo
using levels, color balance, contrast, and sharpness. After sketching ideas for my
photodesign I chose to go with this simple layout to help focus on the photo. I then
proceeded to create my photodesign. I used the pen tool to create the curved
shapes. I then filled them in with different opacities. I then placed my text in white
to help it stand out. Then I added the color scheme and name along one of the
curves. Using the eclipse tool I made circle to be my color swatches and used the eye
droppper tool tool to match the colors.

Bailey B. Photography

Description: These are three different potential logos for my future photography
company.

Bailey B.

Objective: Create three completely different, original logos to fit a company or

personal image that will appeal to an audience using only Adobe illustrator.
Process: This project was a great learning experience in Adobe Illustrator.
First logo its mostly typography, but I chose to create a little bee trail by using the pen
tool and then I made it dashed with the stroke selection. In order to create the bee I
used the eclipse tool, to create the bees body, head, and wings. I then used the pen
tool to create the curved stripes on the bee.

Photography

For the middle logo, I copied the same bee from the earlier logo, used the eclipse
tool to create the black circle and typography for the letter B.
For the third logo I first created the beehive with the eclipse tool. To create the
beehive entrance I created an oval and used the pathfinder tool to divide it so it
would have a straight line on the bootom. I then used the same bee from earlier
but drew the bee path with the pen. Using the stroe tool I added the dashes. I then
copied that same path and used it to type the company name on it.

Web Page
Description: My photography website to advertise my logo and potentially use to
build up my business.
Objective: Design a web page using HTML and CSS to display the logo and
content.
Process: I create my webpage using both notepad++ and TextWrangler. Up until
this point I have never used coding before. It was a difficult task but a very good
learning experience of how to code.
I used a premade CSS and HTML document. I first changed the shape of the main
box to be the size that I wanted then proceeded to insert my logo image. After
that I matched the rest of the webpage to the color scheme of my logo and I used
photoshop to achieve the exact color hex number. Then I changed the font to
match the logo fonts. After that I wanted to look more professional so I added a
menu bar with potential pages for a photo page, contact page, and an about me
page. That was the most difficult portion of this project but I achieved it through
learning about the classes. I then also added a subtle line to separate the logo and
the text below.

Buisiness Card
Photodesign
Description: Creating a logo and matching a business card with
letterhead for a dance studio.
Objective: Create a new logo and buisiness card design to fit a
company image.
Process: This project taught me how to incorporate different adobe
programs with one another; specifically Adobe Indesign and illustrator.
I first created my Logo in Adobe Illustrator. I used the ellipse tool to create
all the curved edges in the design. I then used the pen tool to create the
laces in the shoe. After that I put the business name and then used the
pencil tool to create the laces that curved around the B.
I then opened an Indesign document and created two rectangles that
were 3.5 by 2 so that they were business card size. First I copied the
curved line from the letterhead but mirrored the direction. I did the twice
creating one a thick purple and the other offset, thin, and white. I then
inserted a text box and put dance and chose the color white for a good
contrast. For the back of the business card I chose the same purple as the
line on the front of the design. I chose to make the logo large so its easy
to see and so its recognizable. I then repeated the information.

Letterhead
Photodesign
Description: Creating a logo and matching a business card with
letterhead for a dance studio.
Objective: Unify a stationary design with the buisiness card and create a
watermark.
After that I moved on to the letter head. I chose a purple color as that
would be the company color. I created the sidebar with the rectangle tool
and used 65% opacity so it wasnt such a dark purple. I placed the logo
on the sidebar and added the instructors informations at the bottom.
After that I chose to add the artistic curved line at the top because it tied
in with the laces. I then added the watermark of the dance shoe, and I put
it on 5% opacity.

Objective: Create a folding brochure and logo for a company.

So good,

I then set up an InDesign file to work with. I used the rulers to know where
the fold and cuts would go on each page. I first started with the inside
of the brochure. I choose a font that would match my logo to use for the
brochure. I then searched the internet for a picture of cinderblock for
my background of my jail cell and was unable to find one that was high
enough resolution. I decided to use my Nikon P510 camera to go and
take an image that I wanted.

I then created the menu on the back. I chose to make three distinct
columns so it would be appealing to read. I then made sure to space
the subtitles with the description so they linked together. Then for
the cupcake images, I used the quick selection tool in Photoshop to
eliminate the rest of the image. I then used the refine mask to smooth out
the hard edges and to feather the edge of the image. Then placed all the
image into InDesign where I wanted them. For the Oreo cake I did the
same thing in Photoshop and then in InDesign used the Alpha Channel
to wrap my text around the image.

Flier
Description: Black and white Flier advertising a leadership conference for
graduates.
Objectives: Create a basic flier in adobe indesign.
Process: I laid out a few sketches and I chose to go through with one of
the sketches. I then proceeded to transform that on to the computer in
the InDesign program. I liked the view of it but it didnt work as well on
a portrait view. I then flipped the layout to landscape and the sketch fit
much better. I then added repetition by adding the lines on the left and
the right.

money raised from the competitors will be donated to The American

8:00-4:00 PM

Process: I scanned an image that I took of highland dancers then placed

that in word. I made the image bigger on the page. I then created
the boxes on the edge of the flier. I then put the title in using a more
decorative font, I choose to make it the same color as the kilt in the
image. I then experimented with blues that would work well with the
burgundy color which was when I decided on the light blue. This also ties
in well with the blue kilt in the image. I chose a much simpler second font
in order to get the message across very clear. I learned how much just a
few boxes can do to create a simple flier.
