Answer ALL Questions

(5 x 20 = 100 Marks)

1. (a) Draw the locus of a point P which moves in a plane in such a way that the ratio
of its distances from a fixed point F and a fixed straight line AB is always 2/3.
The distance between the fixed point F and fixed straight line is 50 mm. Also
draw a tangent and normal on a point on the locus at a horizontal distance of
55 mm from the fixed straight line.

1. (b) Draw free hand sketches of the front, top and right side views of the object
shown in Fig. 1(b).

2. (a) The projections of a line measures 80 mm i n the top view and 70 mm in the
front view. The mid point of the line is 45 mm in front of VP and 35 mm
above HP. One end i s 10 mm i n front of VP and nearer to it. The other end
is nearer to HP. Draw the projections of the line. Find the true length and
true inclinations.

2. (b) A square lamina ABCD of 40 mm side rests on the corner C such that the
diagonal AC appears to be at 30 to the VP i n the top view. The two sides
BC and CD containing the corner C make equal inclinations with the HP. The
surface of the lamina makes 45 with HP. Draw the top and front views. (20)
3. (a) Draw the projections of a cone of base diameter 50 mm and axis of length
70 mm resting on the ground on one of its generators with the axis of cone
parallel to VP.

3. (b) A right regular hexagonal pyramid, edge of base 25 mm and height 50 mm,
rests on one of its base edges on HP with its axis parallel to VP. Draw the
projections of the pyramid when its base makes an angle of 45 to the HP.
(20)
4. (a) A square pyramid of base side 25 mm and height 40 mm rests on HP with its
base edges equally inclined to VP. It is cut by a plane perpendicular to VP
and inclined at 30 to HP meeting the axis at 21 mm from the base. Draw the
sectional top view and true shape of the section.

4. (b) A vertical hexagonal prism of 30 mm side of base and axis 65 mm long has
one of its rectangular faces parallel to VP and nearer to it. A circular hole of
40 mm diameter is drilled through the prism completely such that the axis of
the hole bisects the axis of the prism at right angles and is perpendicular to
VP. Draw the development of the prism showing the shape of the hole on it.

5. (a) A right circular cone of diameter 30 mm base and height 36 mm rests centrally
on top of a square block of 48 mm side and 22 mm thick. Draw the isometric
projection of the two solids.

5. (b) A pentagonal pyramid side of base 25 mm and height 50 mm rests with one
of its corner of the base touching the picture plane and the base edges passing
through this corner making equal inclinations with the picture plane. The
station point is on the central line, 100 mm in front of the picture plane and
75 mm above the ground. Draw the perspective view of the pyramid.
