Create 3D dynamics subtitles (with 3DTitles)

Configuration required :
- Nvidia 3D Vision installation (graphic card, monitor 120 Hz, 3D glasses, IR emettor)
- Windows Vista or Seven

Softwares required :
- EZConvert (4.1.12)
- 3DTitles (4.1.4)
- BDSup2Sub (4.0.0)
- DirectVobSub (2.40.1)
- Stereoscopic Player (1.8)

Source required :
- Video 3D H-SBS 1080p format 1.78:1 or 16:9 (without black bands)
- Subtitles format SubRip (SRT)

I/ Convert SRT to EZT (with EZConvert or EZTitles) :

1.1 With EZConvert :

1. Open EZConvert IV then click on File and Import. Select your SRT file.




2. The window SubRip Import Config opens : choose 1252 AINSI US then click on OK





3. The soft EZConvert will be like this.




4. Click on View then Properties. If your video is in H-SBS 1080p 24p, configure like this.



Go to Presentation Style then Alignment and choose Center.


5. Click on File then Export. Choose EZT File (*.ezt) format, then click on Export and Save.



1.2 With EZTitles :

1. Open EZTitles IV then click on File and Import. Select your SRT file.




2. The window SubRip Import Config opens : choose 1252 AINSI US then click on OK







3. The soft EZTitles will be like this.




4. Click on File then Project Settings. If your video is in H-SBS 1080p 24p, configure like this.




5. Click on Titles then Format. Go to Align and choose Centered.


6. Click on File then Save As. Choose EZT File (*.ezt) format, then click on Save.



II/ Generate a Z-Map for estimating subtitles' Z-Depth (with 3DTitles) :

1. Open 3DTitles then click on File and Open. Select your EZT file.




2. Go to File then Project Settings. In Stereoscopic 3D, choose Side-by-Side, Left Image First.


3. Click on Video then Open video file. Select your 3D video.




4. The soft 3DTitles will be like this.




5. Click on Tools then Generate Z-Map and Shot Changes. Wait 1 or 2 hours.


6. Click on Tools then Estimate all Subtitles Depth.
Choose -0,02 depth and untick Generate Depth Segments for Shot Changes. Click on OK.




7. Click on Tools then Checks. Adjust Z-depth with num + and num -.




8. For exporting in PNG/XML format, click on File then Export Images. Configure like this.




9. For exporting in EDL (SBS) format, click on File then Export Images. Configure like this.



10. Open the file French.xml with Notepad
Delete the line <Stereoscopic PresentationMode="1P_Offset" OFSFilename="French.ofs" OFSGuid="{F01164DC-75A0-4D07-AC0E-AAE4DA9F722B}"/>
Replace <Graphic> with <Graphic Width="1920" Height="1080" X="356" Y="920">



III/ Convert 3D XML/PNG subtitles to Idx/Sub (with BDSup2Sub) :

1. Open BDSup2Sub then click on File and Load. Select your XML file.




2. The window Conversion Options opens. Choose 24 for FPS Target then click on OK.


3. Click on Edit then Move all captions. Choose move to center and move outside bounds (100) then click on Move all.




4. Click on File, Save/Export then Save.



IV/ Read 3D dynamics subtitles (with Stereoscopic Player) :

1. Configure DirectVobSub : go to Properties then General. Tick Always load, Original resolution and Original height.


2. Configure Stereoscopic Player : go to Settings then Decoder. Add DirectVobSub in Video Processor.




3. Read 3D video with Stereoscopic Player (v.1.8) and idx/sub subtitles with DirectVobSub.




Create 3D subtitles (with Subtitle Workshop)

Configuration required :
- none

Softwares required :
- Subtitle Workshop (2.51)
- DirectVobSub (2.40.1)
- Stereoscopic Player (1.8)

Source required :
- Video 3D H-SBS 1080p format 2.35:1 (with black bands)
- Subtitles format SubRip (SRT)

I/ Convert subtitles in 3D (with Subtitle Workshop) :

1. Open Subtitle Workshop then click on File and Load subtitle. Select your SRT file.




2. Select all subtitles. Click right then choose Underline


3. Click on File and Save as then choose SubRip. Save with the name French subtitles 3D Left.
Do the same thing and save with the name French subtitles 3D Right.






4. Open the file French subtitles 3D Left.srt with Notepad. Click on Search then Remplace.
In the box Find what put </u> and let the box empty Replace with. Click on Remplace All.
In the box Find what put <u> and in the box Replace with, put {pos(97,287)}. Click on Remplace All.




5. Open the file French subtitles 3D Right.srt with Notepad. Click on Search then Remplace.
In the box Find what put </u> and let the box empty Replace with. Click on Remplace All.
In the box Find what put <u> and in the box Replace with, put {pos(289,287)}. Click on Remplace All.


6. Open Subtitle Workshop. Click on Tools then Join subtitles. Add the 2 SRT files (French subtitles Left and Right).
Click on Join and save with the name French Subtitles 3D.





II/ Read 3D subtitles (with Stereoscopic Player) :

1. Configure DirectVobSub : go to Properties then General. Tick Always load, Original resolution and Original height.


2. Configure Stereoscopic Player : go to Settings then Decoder. Add DirectVobSub in Video Processor.




3. Read 3D video with Stereoscopic Player (v.1.8) and open SRT subtitles with DirectVobSub.




4. Click on Arial and in Scale (x, %), put 50.


5. Click on Arial and in Size, put 16
