Local Area Network such as K-BUS, MODBUS, OPN-BUS and IEC60870-5-103(VDEW). They can also operate as a stand alone equipment. The highly modular construction of BM9100 and BM9200 makes it ideally suited to integrate the minimum functions for specific applications. The device includes Digital Input, Analogue Input and Digital Output coupler modules used to remotely or locally acquire status and measurement input, and to output process controls. The EFI.P network interface allows exchanges of data (signals, controls, measurements and time synchronisation); date/time setting on BM9100 and BM9200 via the PSCN3020 operator's station; and downloading of the application software and configuration, along with the application-specific control sequence logic and the interlocking logic. A network interface such as K-BUS, MODBUS, OPN-BUS and IEC60870-5-103 (VDEW) provides a lower network connection where each protection device is seen by the EFI.P upper network as if it was directly connected to it. Local process control is possible through the mimic diagram man/machine interface. An alphanumeric VDU or laptop computer connected to the Bay Module front-panel RS-232 port lets you set parameters, display data, send control commands, perform maintenance operations, and change the application software and the control sequence logic. Implementation possibilities: Stand-alone control Integrated in a control system Local control Gateways: EFI.P-network and process EFI.P network and K-BUS, MODBUS or OPN-BUS Number of I/O per module: 16 digital inputs 16 digital outputs with common 8 independent digital outputs 3 high power digital outputs Up to 4 analogue inputs Total system capacity: 1 upper network (EFI.P) 1 lower network (K-BUS, MODBUS, OPN-BUS or IEC60870-5-103), using up to 16 devices 9 I/O boards for BM9100 4 I/O boards for BM9200 250 DI via upper network 256 I/O points for the control sequence logic and inter locking. A variety of processing operations are performed on I/O, such as : Under two user-definable trigger conditions, each AI can be used as an internal DI for the local control sequence; DI are filtered using a user-selectable time ranging from 10 to 64 ms. BAY MODULE Protection Gateway The BM9100 and BM9200 are dedicated to the supervisory control of electrical processes through direct inputs/outputs, protective relays or Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) specially tailored for the PSCN3020 Substation Control System.
