CIGREhashadapartnershipwiththeprinterLouisJeanbasedinGAPforover20years.Overthelasttwoorthreeyears,frequent
qualityproblemsandnonrespectofdeadlines,lackofservice,ledustolaunchabidfortenderforthedesign,printinganddistribu
tionofourmagazineElectrainAugustoflastyear.
Fourofferswereshortlisted,LaDistillerie,ImprimierieConforme,Horizon,andLaPoste.

ThegraphicsartelementintheofferfromLaDistilleriewasconsideredtooexpensive.ThecontractwasawardedattheendofDecembertostartin2012with
theFebruaryeditionofElectra.ThewinnerwasImprimerieConforme,alreadyknowntoCIGREastheprintersoftheTechnicalBrochures,variousflyers,CDs
andtheCIGREhistorybook.ImprimerieConformearepartofthelargerArtcurialEditionsgroup.Thedecisionwasmadebasedontheonestopshopapproach,
goodrelationshipsalongthechainfromtheGraphicswork,throughtotheroutageandpostage,alongwiththeirreliableserviceandreasonablepricing.

Quiteafewpeopleexpressedthedesiretobothreceivethepaperversionandhavethepossibilityofdownloading.

Oneortwopeopleaskediftherewouldbeareductioninfeesifnohardcopywasreceived.

Fordownloading,filesizeisanissueandshouldbereasonableinordertosuitallofficeenvironmentsandconstraints.
Itshouldalsobeavailbleonalltypesofelectronicequipmentipad,etc..Forthemoment,Electraelectronicversionisavailableonlineonthewebsite
forStudentsandYoungMembersonly.Wewillcontinuethisthroughout2012andthefullelectronicversionforallCIGREmemberswillbeinplace
fromFebruary2013.

ThegraphicdesignofElectrawhichhasbeenunchangedforquiteafewyearsandneedsmodernizingwillberevisitedthisyear.
ItistheoccasiontoasksomequestionswithregardtoElectra:

TheFrenchpage/Englishpagesystemcurrentlyinplaceisvisuallyuncomfortableandconfusingforthereader,withthesamepicturesrepeatedinboth
