Audition Information

The Audition will take place at MADC clubrooms in St. Venera on August 2
nd
from 4.30pm sharp
onwards. Please be there at 4pm since auditions for EVERYONE will start at 4.30pm. The first round of
auditions will be a workshop style audition where you will be expected to be able to be flexible and
improvise with fellow auditionees to various exercises at the discretion of the director. Please bring
water and clothes which will be easy to move in. This session will take up approximately 2-4 hours,
depending on turnout. Auditionees should decide which character they would like to be seen for (which
may be one or many although you may be asked to be seen for a character you didnt expect, please
keep an open mind) and they will be asked to come in front of the panel in groups according to
character. So for example, all those wanting to audition for Romeo and Juliet will be asked to work with
the panel and then after that Lord and Lady Capulet etc.
There will be no need to prepare any speeches for this first round of auditions. But please have a look at
the qualities we are looking for in each character and please be ready to offer something along those
lines in the improvisations.

Recalls will happen soon after on a later date in which people will be asked to read specific parts of the
actual text alone or in groups at the discretion of the director.

Rehearsal Information

Since the director is flying between UK and Malta, it will be necessary to get a head start on text work
and some groundwork in the holiday periods throughout the year (hence why auditions are happening
so early). These will not be many rehearsals but will be crucial in order to make the work efficient and
slick and solid for the next year, since its a demanding piece.

Most of the rehearsals will be collaborative and devised so please approach the rehearsal process with
an open mind.
