In 2014, the direction of the design philosophy for
Samsung Electronics televisions is to continue
to pursuit a simple and attractive aesthetic while
adding the most advanced functional features to
thereby offer a greater, more expanded viewing
experience. The basic purpose of the television is
'to be watched' but we believe that the television
can also become something 'to be experienced.'
And our continuing concept, One design, unifies
the various components of the television to
make it even more convenient to use and reflects
Samsung's design philosophy to provide the most
immersive and captive viewing experience.

television viewing experience, our products for
2014 include the full line-up of UHD and curved
design. The best visual enjoyment always requires
a clear picture quality. Compared to the standard
Full HD, UHD has four times better clarity to offer
the viewer a more absorbing connection with
the content. You aren't just looking at a screen,
it's like you are actually in the same place and
completely involved in the same situation,
participating and not just viewing. This is exactly
the kind of television experience that UHD
proposes. Along with the ideal curves, regardless
of the viewer's location, the flawless picture
quality envelops the audience in implicit comfort
to offer a completely captivating television
viewing experience. A refined minimalist design
of the Samsung Electronics televisions in large
and beautiful curves enhance any space they
occupy, injecting an inspiring breath of fresh air
into the atmosphere. Rather than a consumer
product, the U9000 is an unforgettable piece

The congruous curved surface and curved stand
of the U9000 demonstrates a stylish pairing in
the display that transforms the activity of sitting in
front of a television into an act of appreciation.
Viewers are drawn into the silent strength and strong
dynamic of the curved screen for a completely
entranced feeling. And the metal stand in the shape
of the letter T demonstrates a sturdy sense of
stability. The Aero Stand is a newly formed metal
stand that minimizes the bulkiness of the television
from the front while maximizing the viewers
concentration on the screen. The construction of
the stand utilizes two opposing textures without
disrupting the screen and resembles small detached
metal plates so the screen appears to be hovering
in the air. This oating screen maximizes
the emotional value and adds aesthetic value to
the space. It is a design strategy that reinvents
the Samsung television to also become an object
of appreciation even when it isnt turned on and
revitalizes consumer expectations for television
design. The U9000 is lined top and bottom in metal
for a cultivated nish to the concave surface and
curvature. Aluminum edges softens the appearance
as well as accents the entire design, not only to
highlight the curvature but also to make the screen
seem like its oating, for an effective contrast
and raising the urbane, delicate design value one
notch higher. Distinguished for a beautiful backside
that blends smoothly with the elegance of the front,
the U9000 raises expectations for the future of
television design.

Floating the screen for
the purest immersion

The U8550 was designed for the general consumer
who is switching to a UHD TV for the rst time.
Born from the favorable reviews of the F8000
models design, the U8550 has a subtle black bezel
that is a metallic border outlining the shape of the
television and compelling viewers to look at the
canvas. The U8550 presents high denition
supported by the distinct UHD monitor. Located
at the lower part of the television the sound of
the Slit Speaker provides entertainment beyond
the expectations of consumers, simultaneously
intensifying the mesmerizing quality of the screen.
Moreover, the exquisite metallic UHD logo carved on
the right side of the stand more precisely indicates
that its a UHD TV which is otherwise not obvious
from the exterior. As for the silhouette, the T-shaped
stand is attached to the screen at the back of the
monitor and offsets the chunky neck noticeable in
previous television designs. Plus, the metal plate at
the front of the monitor effectively creates a contrast
so that the screen appears to be oating thereby
introducing a new dimension in television

The curved shape TV design of the H8000 escapes
the cold, at surface images of the past. Besides
the fundamental value the curve adds to the design,
the point of departure is where instinctive and
natural expression take place. Essentially the curved
shape has a sense of movement that is distinct from
the straight line. The curved line has a sculptural
image that provides viewers with a more
comfortable feeling of immersion. Externally it has
a rhythmic aura. Likewise, in order to express the
intrinsic grace of the curve, the complete sculptures
design concept starts with the shape of an arch.
The bended body and the upper part of the stand
both are poised for the peak of the arch and
the tension of the two curves depict a rhythmical
image. While facing the television the arch of both
in harmony emphasizes the elegant line of the curve
and highlights the delightful characteristics of
the display. At any angle, the front or the back,
the beautiful body of the curved television is
underscored for a natural balance with the stand.
Lastly, from the front, the arch of the products
body and the arch of the stand evoke an emotional
atmosphere which is further illuminated to
emphasize the dramatic beauty of the design.

In 2014, one of the particularly crucial aspects when
designing televisions is the immersion factor.
Consequently the ability to absorb the viewer will
be the core value of the televisions of the future.
Recent television design considers all other elements
besides the screen as detracting from viewer
engagement. For these reasons the emerging trend
points to greater simplicity. The peerless H7000 is a
denitive design conceived from endless research
efforts to embody extreme minimalism, innate
beauty and still visually stun, acoustically impress
and ultimately absorb the viewer completely.
Through the form taking the appearance of a natural
line owing from the stand to encircle the screen,
the two functional elements of the screen and the
stand seamlessly merge. This engagement between
these two elements of the same screen and the same
stand results in the H7000 as the nest example of
understated awless design. The bezel is a line of
chrome juxtaposed with matte nishing, sliding from
the lower part of the screen, perfecting the details
to stir emotions.

The metallic bar located at the bottom part of the
screen is the dening feature of the H6500s design.
The metallic bar is a distinguishing feature of the
H6500. Most televisions have similar rectangular
screens and stands. Usually a characteristic of
televisions relies on the stand. But the H6500 holds
the same characteristic even when mounted on
the wall without the stand. This is a remarkable
added option in the H6500s design. Light shimmers
from the sides of the metallic bar when facing the
H6500 and looking down from the top the metallic
bar leaves a stronger impression of the strength of
its design. Apart from being visually pleasing, the
metallic bar also has the ability to step up viewer
immersion. It works as a guide for the sound to
further engross viewers. Sound emitted from the
lower part of the screen is focused forward to
encourage a more inclusive viewing experience.
The aesthetic of the H6500 leaves nothing to be
desired when it comes to functional features and
increases consumer satisfaction with greater use.

Shaped like a picture frame, the minimal white
bezel is the characteristic design of the H6410.
Hung on a white wall like a frame, the television
blends well with the surrounding environment and
at the same time viewers are easily absorbed by
the contents. The intuitive design of the H6410
offers a new concept in televisions. When turned on,
the H6410 allows viewers to fully feel the depth of
the picture on the screen with great clarity, and when
turned off, the minimal frame design of the television
accompanies any rooms interior and continues
to be visually pleasing. Going beyond the role of
the basic television, the H6410 exudes aesthetic
value and is designed to perfectly harmonize with
its surroundings. When not hung on the wall, the two
metal stands surreptitiously support the television
frame. This stand resembles a frame on an easel,
bringing to mind a mesmerizing painting on a table.
The white frame remains attractive both in a
household or any commercial setting. As a B2C
model, the H6410 also completely satises the needs
of B2B clients and offers a new design in televisions.

Exquisite balance between
aesthetics & functionality

UD590 l A Float
Designed with a highly rened ideal, the UD590
is a premium monitor for use by professional
videographers and photographers or those who use
CAD /CAM. The representative, eye-catching feature
of the UD590 is the seamless T shaped stand.
If the typical stand of a standard monitor embodies
the element of a plane, the stand of the UD590
embodies the element of a line Through technical
engineering this concept of line for the stand
minimizes the monitors contact with the oor while
maintaining a sense of balance. The design is free
of spatial constraints. In particular, starting from
the part where the stand and the screen end,
a darker, dimming nish is applied and the neck
extends backward to diminish its appearance.
In this way the screen is not limited by the enclosure
of the stand and leaves an impression of more freely
oating in midair. Moreover, the screen can go
beyond physical and spatial boundaries to facilitate
a deeper immersion than ever before. The narrow
bezel gives the screen a touch of renement and
the subdued dark nish adds an air of elegance while
the UHD picture quality has been much improved.
Also, while not in use, the sleek line of the stand
integrates an agreeable contrast and embodies
a beautiful balance in composition that is visually
pleasing. From the front the UD590 will appear
like a precious, weightless screen oating above
a ne line. For the reverse, the clean back design
completes the exquisite details of the UD590 as
an overall masterpiece of monitors.

Spreading out on the oor, the latest very thin
design creates an ideal environment to concentrate
on the highest acoustic sensations. Furthermore,
as it is located under the television, the space that
was previously occupied around the television by
bulky detached speakers is available again.
The speaker system naturally blends with the
environment to provide the highest quality sound.
Remaining loyal to the true purpose of audio,
the speakers are small but powerful. Samsung aims
to make thinner product with better acoustics and
set new standards in speaker design. This product
does not have a visible speaker grill or an exposed
driver. Instead, the tiniest single slit is the source of
the sound. This narrow slit is in harmony with the
thin form of the speaker and listeners will be
impressed with the great sound coming from such
a narrow slit. Outwardly, deep consideration was
made in design and function both to simultaneously
satisfy the viewers. A hairline, matte black nish
of the speakers top plate which not only naturally
matches the television but also prevents scratching
or damage caused from contact with the television
stand. Appearing slimmer as you look towards
the back of the speaker and seeming to be oating
off the ground, it also aids in the handling of the set
when it needs to be moved.

also elevate the atmosphere. Primarily minimal
but suiting subtle geometric patterns the details
are rened and tasteful. Originating from
architectural forms the three dimensional pattern
maintains the basics and makes a fresh modern
impact Moreover by altering the size of the speakers
according to the front, the design achieves visual
perfection And not only from the front but also
blending towards the back so that at any angle
a coherent beauty is displayed.

Ergonomic design for
more sensitive motion
and touch control

The most remarkable aspect about Smart Control
is the smooth combination of motion control and
touch control. The two methods of control are easy
to use and were devised with the purpose of
avoiding straining the wrist even after many hours
of use. By applying ergonomic principles in this
design, the curvature of the control buttons matches
the shape of the thumb to reduce stress on the nger
muscles. In order to lessen discomfort further,
this controller is designed so the users thumb can
reach all the buttons. The streamlined design makes
the controller look slimmer than it actually is and ts
in one hand nicely. Visually, technically and
functionally pleasing, Smart Control satises
consumers on every level.
