Product Description
Mackol CAS-100N is sodium coco-sulfate derived from natural coconut oil. In the needle
form, the product is free flowing and disperses easily in water. Heat is required to fully
dissolve the product. Mackol CAS-100N provides excellent lather, thickening and
conditioning properties. It is also an excellent replacement for betaines and alkanolamides in
personal cleansing products. A unique, naturally derived anionic surfactant for the
formulation of natural type personal cleansing products that is preservative-free.

Mackol CAS-100N should be stored in sealed
containers below 30C in a dry place out of
direct sunlight. Handle between 25C 35C.
Mackol CAS-100N will require heat to
incorporate, 35C until dissolved is
recommended (see recommended procedure
on page 2).

Recommended Procedure for Dissolving Mackol CAS-100N


Low amounts [<5%] of Mackol CAS-100N

o Can easily be dissolved at ambient (25C) temperature with moderate stirring.


For larger amounts [>5%] of Mackol CAS-100N,

o A slightly higher temperature will be more efficient:

Preheat the Water phase to 35 40C (no higher) and turn heat off.

Slowly add Mackol CAS-100N while moderately stirring; material
should dissolve in a fairly short time (15 30 minutes).

After Mackol CAS-100N has totally dissolved, continue with the
manufacturing procedure.


NOTE: The dissolving of Mackol CAS-100N is an endothermic process; the batch
temperature may drop 5 10C, depending on the amount of material to be dissolved.
Also, if heat is not turned off after preheating, the material will turn into a hard, sticky gel
and adhere to hot surfaces, like heating coils. Dissolution will then be very slow and time
consuming.
