CONDTIONS OF ENTRYELIGIBILITY
1. To enter this event you are required to be a current nancial member of the Show Horse Council of Victoria Inc (SHCV) or a current nancial member of
a Show Horse Council of Australasia (SHCA) aliate. The SHCV recognises reciprocal rights of all SHCA aliates.
2. The owner or owners of a horse compeng at the 2014 SHCV Junior Equestrian Showcase must be a current nancial member of the SHCV or SHCA
aliate at the me of entry, except where the horse is leased, the lessee(s) must be a current nancial member of the SHCV or SHCA aliate.
3. A rider of a horse compeng at the 2014 SHCV Junior Equestrian Showcase, or a handler of a horse at the 2014 SHCV Junior Equestrian Showcase, must
be a current nancial member of the SHCV or SHCA aliate at the me of entry.
4. A rider of a horse compeng at the 2014 SHCV Junior Equestrian Showcase, or an ocial handler (Led classes) of a horse compeng at the 2014 SHCV
Junior Equestrian Showcase, must be under 17 years of age on the day of compeon. If a rider or ocial handler (Led classes) turns 17 years of age
on the date of compeon, that person is ineligible to compete.
5. A commiee member of the SHCV or an ocial at the 2014 SHCV Junior Equestrian Showcase may at any me request a competor to produce docu-
mentaon to support they are current nancial members of the SHCV or SHCA aliate. The SHCV membership card is the preferred method of proof
for SHCV members. Random checks will be conducted.
6. A person who competes in a class at the 2014 SHCV Junior Equestrian Showcase whilst they are not current nancial members of the SHCV or SHCA
aliate will be eliminated from all classes in which they have competed and will forfeit all prizes and all tles awarded.
7. A horse (including rider class mounts) compeng at the 2014 SHCV Junior Equestrian Showcase must be registered with the SHCA. A copy of registra-
on papers will be required when entries are posted to the SHCV Show Secretary, PO Box 5374, Cranbourne VIC 3977
8. A horse compeng at the 2014 SHCV Junior Equestrian Showcase MUST be registered with the SHCA by the closing date for entries.
9. A stallion is not permied to enter any class at this event.
10. NO qualicaons will be required for entry into any class at this event.
11. The 2014 SHCV Junior Equestrian Showcase shall be run in accordance with the SHCA Compeon Rules, Regulaons and Condions of Entry. A
copy of the rules can be obtained from website; www.shcv.com.au
12. The SHCV commiee reserves the right to interpret all quesons and condions and shall make any relevant decisions in regard to, arising from
any incident at, or pertaining to this event without claim for damages or recourse of any kind. The SHCV commiee will make a determinaon in
response to any quesons not covered in the Condions of Entry. The decision of the SHCV shall be nal.
13. Entry to this event shall constute an Agreement and Armaon by the exhibitor(s) and or owner(s) and or responsible ocer (which includes
lessee(s), Manager, Rider and Handler) to compete subject to and in accordance with the SHCA Compeon Rules and Condions of Entry applica-
ble to this event.
14. All informaon supplied by the exhibitor(s) and or owner(s) and or responsible ocer shall be true and correct and represent that the horse and or
rider is eligible to compete. If this informaon is found to be false the exhibit shall be ineligible to compete. The exhibitor(s) and or owner(s)
and or responsible ocer of the entry may be disciplined by the SHCV.
15. The SHCV commiee and or the Ground Jury reserve the right to alter the number of nalists, programme, Judges and Schedule or Timetable.
RESPONSIBLE OFFICER
16. If the owner of the horse is in charge of the horse during the compeon, then the owner of the horse must sign the entry as the responsible ocer.
17. If a person other than the owner of the horse is in charge of the horse during the compeon, then that person must sign the entry as the responsible
ocer
18. In all cases, the responsible ocer will be in charge of the horse/pony at the venue. The safety of the horse/pony and others in relaon to that horse/
pony will be deemed as this persons responsibility.
19. A responsible ocer must be a current nancial member of the SHCV or SHCA aliate.
20. Where a horse is registered and or entered in the name of a minor (under 18 years of age), the entry form must be signed by their parent or legal
guardian.
21. IMPORTANT: A parent or legal guardian of a minor (under 18 years of age) who is compeng at this event must be a current nancial member of
the SHCV or SHCA aliate at the me of compeon.
22. A responsible ocer must be in aendance when the horse is in compeon and must be available should they be called upon.
23. PLEASE NOTE: in the event of disciplinary acon the person considered responsible should be the person signing as the Responsible Ocer.
HORSE AND RIDER
24. A riders age is their age as at the day of compeon. Competors are required to include a photocopy of their birth cercate with entries.
NOTE: All competors (riders and handlers) must be under 17 years of age on the day of compeon.
24. A rider may only ride a maximum of two horses in a nal.
25. A mount used in a rider class compeon under 10 years of age shall not exceed 14hh.
26. A mount used in a rider class compeon 10 years and under 12 years of age shall not exceed 14.2hh
27. Horses compeng in show hunter classes are ineligible to compete in open saddle horse classes. Likewise, open saddle horses are ineligible to com-
pete in show hunter classes. This includes First Ridden and Leading Rein classes.
28. The Leading Rein Pony , Leading Rein Show Hunter Pony, and Leading Rein Shetland Pony will be judged on the pony and its suitability as a leading
rein mount. Rider must be 3 years and under 8 years. Pony must not exceed 12.0hh. Pony to be ridden in a snae bit. The rider must not wear
spurs and must not carry a whip. Handlers may carry a cane.
29. A refund of class entries will be considered if an acceptable Medical or Veterinary Cercate is forwarded in wring to the Secretary by 9:00pm Friday
19 September 2014. A $20 administraon fee will apply. PLEASE NOTE: A refund of membership fees will not be considered.
30. All protests shall be in wring to the Ground Jury accompanied by a non"refundable fee of $100.00 and is to be received no later than an hour aer
the event, aer which me no protest shall be accepted.
31. Competors ARE REQUIRED to provide number holders. Competor numbers will be provided by the SHCV.
32. The SHCV commiee will make every eort to avoid classes clashing. If a competor misses a class due to a clash, they will have no recourse against
the commiee of the SHCV and no refund of monies paid will be considered.
33. Approved helmets must be worn by all competors (current Australian, European or American standard) whilst compeng or exercising horses.
MEASUREMENT OF HORSES to be read in conjuncon with the SHCA Measuring Scheme and Rules
35. Measuring at the 2014 SHCV Junior Equestrian Showcase will be available at Tatura on Saturday 11 October 2014 and Sunday 12 October 2014 (unless
advised otherwise)

36. A horse holding a Naonal Saddle Horse registraon and is currently being shown, is required to be ocially measured and hold a current SHC Cer-
cate of Height.
37. SHCA registraon papers must be produced at the me of measuring.
38. A horse compeng at the 2014 SHCV Junior Equestrian Showcase must hold a current SHC Cercate of Height at the me of entering a class.
39. A horse found not to hold a current SHC Cercate of Height will be eliminated from the class. This includes all saddle, led and rider classes.
40. A horse successfully measured at the 2014 SHCV Junior Equestrian Showcase and yet to receive a cercate will be deemed to hold a current Cer-
cate for the duraon of the show.
41. A SHC Annual Cercate of Height is valid for 12 months from the date of measurement for horses aged over 5 years.
42. A SHC Provision Cercate of Height is valid for 6 months from the date of measurement for horses aged under 5 years.
43. The SHCV will recognise a SHC Cercate of Height issued by another SHC Aliate. A height cercate issued by any other organisaon or society
will not be recognised.
DRUG TESTING (Random drug tesng will be conducted at this event) to be read in conjuncon with the SHCA Compeon Rules and SHCA Guidelines for
Drug Tesng.
44. It is the intenon of these regulaons that a horse shall perform at the me of compeon on their merits, without the aid of drugs or prohibited
substances that aect the conduct, performance or appearance of the horse.
45. It is the absolute responsibility of the owner(s), exhibitor(s) and responsible ocer to ensure any horse exhibited by them at this event is free from
ANY prohibited/banned substance at the me of compeon. Failure to adhere to this rule may render the horse, owner(s), exhibitor(s), and or
responsible ocer liable to disqualicaon and or disciplinary acon as determined by the SHCV.
46. Drug tesng will be carried out during the event in accordance with the SHCA Compeon Rules on Drugs and Drug Tesng together with the depart-
ment of Sport and Recreaons Doping Policy, or in accordance with the laboratory sample protocol. Compliance with this rule is mandatory for all
exhibits, exhibitor(s), competor(s) and responsible persons. Drug penales as adopted in the SHCA Compeon Rules will apply.
47. Registraon papers must be produced if a horse is called for drug tesng.
48. A horse that is to be swabbed MUST NOT leave the arena before being escorted to the swabbing box by the Swabbing Steward. Any exhibitor that
fails to comply with this instrucon will be eliminated.
49. Results of drug tesng may be published.
50. A treatment form (available from the Secretary) shall be completed and lodged by the responsible oce of any horse which has been administered
and drug or prohibited substance within 14 days prior to this compeon. The Treatment Form shall be accompanied by a Veterinary Cercate
containing full details of any ailment and or injury and treatment, and be forwarded to the secretary within 24 hours of the inial treatment. If the
treatment occurs within 24 hours of commencing this event, the Treatment From must be lodged with the Secretary as soon as possible, but no later
than 07:00am on the day of compeon. Where the horse required connued treatment (aer the form has been lodged) a wrien report detailing
the treatment shall be submied prior to the day of compeon concluding.
51. The decision as to whether the horse shall be permied to compete shall be made by the Ground Jury. Veterinary advice may be sought if consid-
ered necessary. The exhibitor(s) and or competors shall be advised of the decision prior to the commencement me. No claims shall be made
against or an appeal made to the Ground Jury of the SHCV if, by such decision of the Ground Jury, the horse is not permied to compete.
SAFETY OF HORSE OR RIDER
52. In all avenues of compeon, the safety of the animal, rider, handler and spectators is or paramount importance. This means every competor must
have a thorough knowledge of and understanding of general aspects of horse safety, as well as the specics of horse safety as applied to the eld of
compeon.
53. There will be designated areas for parking of oats and other vehicles. Designated areas will also be provided for exercising and marshalling horses.
54. Where NO HORSES ALLOWED signs are posioned, denitely NO HORSES ARE ALLOWED into these areas.
55. The judge or appropriate steward will have the right to ask a competor to leave the arena under the following circumstances; the horses behaviour
is seen to be a danger to the safety of the rider or to other competors. The horse/rider combinaon is inappropriate (ie the horse/pony is too
dicult for the rider to handle)
56. Horses/ponies will be ridden outside the ring and exercise areas at a walk.
57. Horses may be ridden in the oat lane way BUT NOT between vehicles where they may be kicked or cause accidents
58. Careless tying"up causes many accidents to horse/ponies and people. Use a quick release knot. It is preferable that you es to a piece of string.
Never e to a movable branch of a tree or unaached oat. Dont leave the rope too long of the horse/pony may get his foot over it. The horse/
pony should not be able to get his nose to the ground. At no me should a horse/pony be ed up by the bridle.
59. Dogs ARE permied and must remain on a lead.
60. When riding or sing on a horse/pony a safety helmet must be worn correctly and fastened at all mes.
61. A horse may only be lunged in an appropriate area. A horse must be lunged by an experienced handler, with the horse controlled by a bridle.
62. All saddlery should be of good repair. Girth should be ghtened to a safe level; srrups should be of the correct size for the rider. Safety srrups are
recommended. Bridle should be correctly adjusted for comfort and control of the horse/pony.
63. Riding of a horse bareback, rugged and or unbridled is prohibited.
64. Power leads must not cross roads or tracks
65. Construcon of portable/tape yards is prohibited.

66. Speed limits must be adhered to at all mes.
STANDARD OF CONDUCT AND BEHAVIOUR
67. Objeconable conduct and unseemly behaviour by any person towards a judge, show ocial, competor, exhibitor, spectator or Show How Horse
Council commiee member may be subject to disciplinary acon in accordance with Show Horse Council of Australasia Inc. Compeon Rules.
68. Any competor/exhibitor/rider who, in the opinion of the Show Horse Council, has caused annoyance by loud or unseemly comment upon the deci-
sion of a judge, or upon any act or omission on the part of a judge, or any ocial on duty in or about the ring at the me of compeon, such person
may be expelled from the class and the grounds.
69. A competor must compete on their own merits. A person is not permied to provide instrucon in any form to a competor who has entered the
marshalling area or arena to compete in a class. Any behaviour that contravenes this rule may be subject to disciplinary acon.
ENTRIES
70. Any stabling requirements must be made with your entry forms.
71. Entries must be completed on"line or received mail by 12 September 2014
72. An incorrect entry will incur a $20 administraon fee
73. A compulsory swabbing fee is payable per horse
74. A catalogue will NOT be published for this event.
75. To assist with ease of processing your entry and to conrm eligibility, ALL Competors are encouraged complete their entry and make payment via
www.nominate.com.au; once completed, you are to forward the signed entry form to the SHCV. If you fail to enter via www.nominate.com.au, a compulsory
Administraon Levy will be applied as we are required to enter the details on Nominate on your behalf.

Copy of current SHC Height Cercate (if held)
Copy of membership cards of all owners (if not a SHCV member)
Copy of membership cards of all riders (if not a SHCV member)
Copy of membership card for Responsible Ocer (if not a SHCV member)
A copy of a Birth Cercate for each rider
