MOTIVATION

The teacher will ask the students what are the different types of weather we can have. She
will write the students responses on the board. She will tell the students they will get to
use the IPAD and on the IPAD, get into pairs and use the app kid weather to take turns
coming up and figuring out which object does not belong in the picture. She will show the
students the book Little Cloud as well as the cloud picture they will be making, with
shaving cream and after listening to the song Mr. Sun, show the students a picture of Mr.
Sun that they are going to make.

ADAPTATIONS
For my student who is dyslexic, the teacher will provide a reading pen as well
as their own copy of Little Cloud and their own written copy of the song
Mr. Sun.
For my student who is an English Language Learner, they will be provided
with pertinent vocabulary works prior to the lesson
For my student with an allergy to chocolate, sugar cookies will be provided

DIFFERENTIATION OF INSTRUCTION

For my students who prefer to work in small groups, they will have that
opportunity during the IPAD activity.
My students whom are visual learners will have that opportunity during the
reading of Little Cloud.
My students who are auditory learners will have that opportunity while
listening to the song Mr. Sun

DEVELOPMENTAL PROCEDURES

Students will get into their teacher selected heterogeneous groups to decide
what item in each picture does not belong using the IPAD to play the kid
weather app. (According to the weather, which item in this picture does not
belong?)
Students will listen to the book Little Cloud and asked questions pertaining
to each page. (What has happened here? What has little cloud turned into?)
Students will use their provided blue construction paper and after mixing
shaving cream and glue with a spoon, the students with use the spoon to
draw a cloud and then pour glitter on the cloud and watch the paint puff up.
(Where do we see clouds? What color are clouds?)
Students will listen to the song Mr. Sun a few times and then sing along
with the teacher. Afterwards the students will use paper plates, and count
out 8 pieces of orange and yellow already cut up sun rays from
construction and glue them around the plates. The students will then place
the pre-cut out sunglasses on their suns and then with a marker draw a
smile. (Why did we put sunglasses on our Mr. Suns? What colors can the sun
be?)

ASSESSMENT

The students will pair up and use the Sid the science kid SMARTboard activity and
be able to pick out what Gerald should be wearing according to the type of weather
the spinner landed on. The students will be assessed according to the following
