New Superintendent Appointed by Connetquot Central School

District

At a recent Connetquot Central School District Board of Education (BOE) meeting, Interim
Superintendent Dr. Ronald Smith announced Mrs. Lynda Adams at the new superintendent for
this district, effective July 1
st
, 2014. Adams has had over 20 years of experience in teaching and
administrative positions and is currently Deputy Superintendent for the Center Moriches School
District. The BOE believes that under the supervision of Adams, the school district will be able
to excel in academic achievements and become one of the best districts on Long Island.

In addition, the BOE recognized various teachers for outstanding performing achievements and
awarding of Tenure at the meeting. Connetquot High School Science teacher Stephanie Burns
was recognized for being named New York State Master Teacher, a program designed to
encourage educators to mentor their peers and to continue expanding their own scholar and
professional development. Burns is one out of only 42 Long Island teachers of Science,
Technology, and Mathematics who were named to the program. Nine Connetquot School District
teachers were also recommended for Tenure.
