Executive Summary:
Bristles Sport Emporium is a sports arena with the purpose of providing adequate training
and camps for any sports ranging from baseball to mix martial arts to dodge ball. We strive in
providing the necessary training and skills to be successful in any sport. Bristles Sport
Emporium has teamed up with the Fitness for Fun gym to provide a dodge ball camp and
tournament for anyone between the ages of 10-18 with different skill level trainings. The
weeklong camp will involve skills, practice and games to improve skills. After the camp
everyone involved in the camp will compete in a dodge ball tournament with the winner of the
entire event winning the grand prize of $500, a new flat screen TV, and each player receiving an
official Bristles Sport Emporium championship tee shirt. The focus of this event is to bring kids
and teens out to play and learn the necessary skills of dodge ball while having fun and hoping to
win the tournament from the weeklong camp provided.
Mission, Values, Goals, and Objectives:
Our mission statement is to be the best sports training facility in the surrounding area and
provide adequate training at any skill level for any sport. Five values we have are teamwork, a
healthy lifestyle, effective communication, learning from your mistakes, and staying out of
trouble through fitness. Three objectives we have are to provide and build skills of dodge ball
through our weeklong camp, bring people from the surrounding area in and see what type of
training we provide to bring them to our own facility, and also let kids and teen enjoy a
recreational activity that is not usually provided in schools or the area.
Promotion plan and Promotional tools:
Our promotional plan and tools we will use will be wide and use all types of advertising
to get the word out about the event. We will use different types of promotional ideas since we
will be working with and trying to gets kids and teens in for this event. The first type of
promotion we will use will be online. Since so many kids and teens are online all the time
anymore, we plan on using the internet and our website as well as Fitness for Funs website as
well. We hope to draw kids in or hopefully parents will see this advertised and sign their kids up
online. Another promotional idea will be sign and flyers all around the surrounding area. We
already have billboards and signs up for our Bristles Sport Emporium so we will just put up signs
about the dodge ball camp and tournament all around to raise awareness. We will also have a
day in which our company of Bristles will walk around and rive around to many popular areas
such as our local Wal-Mart and shopping centers and setup a table or stand and have a signup
area for kids and teens to go ahead and sign up on the spot. We hope these will be some good
ideas to promote our camp and tournament because we are hoping for the crowd possible
because strive to make a difference in our community.
Registration/check-in plan and registration form:
Our primary method of registration will be in person sign up. This is because we are
always on the run and setting up tables and stand to promote different camps or events so the
person-to-person signing up is a lot easier as well just in case there are any questions. Also we
know and realize not everyone has the internet so we like to be as customer friendly as we can
and provide as much information as possible so in person registration will be our primary way.
Our secondary method of registration will be online. This is a faster for efficient way to sign up
and is a lot faster without all the papers and forms to write on. We will have forms available on
our personal website as well as the Fitness for Fun website so there are multiple ways to access
them and sign up and check-in.

Market analysis/Needs Assessment:
The target market and groups of people we hope to bring in will be younger kids and
teens who enjoy sports and particularly dodge ball. The market will and should be high in our
community and especially in this day and age. So many kids and teen are becoming more and
more technology grounded and recreation has drifted away drastically so we hope that since we
have so much success with our own facility and camps that we will have a large crowd for this
event. We always love giving away prizes and awards for everyone who participates and also
our winners who have won the event or tournament involved. We love to use these as market
strategies and promotional ideas as well because everyone loves winning and also having fun
while doing so. Leisure is not a big part of a lot of kids daily routine anymore as obesity rates
skyrocket everyday and this is not good. We provide camps and programs for any age groups up
adults at Bristles but our main focus and market target is kids and providing camps and events
for them so we can leave a mark in them to enjoy recreation and realize how important it is.
Staff and staff orientation plan:
For our staff and orientation plan we have a number full-time year round workers from
our own facility who come and provide the camps and events but we so has par-time workers as
well as volunteers who come and help out for certain camps and events we have. We mainly
have the full-time mangers or people in charge of each area have or gather however many
volunteers they need for the event and we do orientation once they arrive. There are usually not
specific skills required but we do check to see if any prior recreational experience is on your
resume. The managers and event coordinators usually run the camps and events with the help of
multiple volunteers and sometimes volunteers are brought on part-time or full-time if they show
a willingness to be in this area and interest in a job. We have a safety and medical assistant with
us at all times due to the possible risks and injuries that could occur. We usually have about
three or four on our staff at all times to ensure safety and liability issues. Our orientation varies
depending on where the new staff or volunteer will be working in, but every new staff meets
with our manager and learns about our company and what we do and our purpose. They also
learn about every area and meet everyone but once it is time to learn their skills they are passed
off to the team manager in charge of that certain area to learn the necessary skills for the camp.
We also go into great detail about risk management and any possible injuries or accidents that
could occur so our staff and volunteers are aware of them.
Set-up plan:
Before the event and camp begins a couple things need set-up. Depending on the camp
or event, we set-up the sports equipment and make sure the facility and area is safe and ready to
be used. We need to always set-up our registration area and make sure everything is ready to go
there and also make sure we have all equipment and areas ready to go before hand. This usually
needs to done a day before hand and for our dodge ball camp will be plenty of time since we
have a number of volunteers and helpers which makes setting up and tearing down fast and easy.
Special arrangement:
Some special arrangements that would be necessary for this event would be to make sure
we are in contact with Fitness for Fun and make sure they are still available and ready for the
event and camp as well. We always like to stay in contact with everyone we work with just to
make sure no surprises happen or come about. Our main arrangements needed to be done ahead
of time is with any company or agency we are working with or going to make sure everything is
still set and will be ready to go.
Venue arrangements:
For our camp and tournament we are working with Fitness for Fun gym and that will be
where the camp will take place and where our company will go and hold the camp and
tournament. We will go and make sure the venue there is safe and secure and will be properly
used and ready for the dodge ball camp. We will use their gym as the venue spot since we are
working with them and coming in to do the camp and tournament. We do have an actual padded
dodge ball area at Bristles Sports Emporium so that will be out back-up facility just in case
something would go wrong or we would need to move the camp to another area since we hold
dodge ball camps and training on our own at our Bristles facility.
Inclusion plan for individuals with disabilities:
For our inclusion plan we are a people friendly company and will deny no one person for
any reason such as disabilities or money problems because we will work accordingly to each
situation. We believe that each and every person deserves the opportunity to participate in
leisure in any way shape or form. Our plan for inclusion for our dodge ball camp is that we will
allow them to attend the camp and participate in any activities that they are able to an may also
participate in the dodge ball tournament after the camp is over since everyone who attends the
camp will play in the tournament for the grand prize. Some barriers that could exist would be
that some kids or teen might not think they deserve to play or can play because of their disability
but they have every right to play so any kids or teen that does not follow these guidelines will be
asked to leave immediately. Some kids may also not be comfortable playing with people with
disabilities but this barrier must be broken down to allow everyone to feel comfortable with one
another and have fun during the dodge ball camp and tournament.

Risk Management Plan:
For our risk management plan for this event we want to identify any possible risks that
could occur during the camp and tournament. We want to let everyone know who is
participating in the camp as well as their parents the risks involved but also assure them that we
have safety and medical personnel there at all times. We realize that injuries and accidents will
occur but we want to identify them as soon as possible so no law suits or problems come back on
us. There will be plenty of individuals and helps supervising the kids during the camp and
helping them out and also make sure we keep a safe environment at all times. All of our staff
will be CPR certified as well as go through a basic medical training class before beginning to
know the risks and what to do in certain situations if they were to come up. We will also have
each parent and child sign waivers realizing the possible risks and injuries that could occur and
that we will do our best keep a safe and fun environment for all kids at all time. Our safety and
medical personnel will be there at all times as well in case of any injuries occurring.
Equipment, supply, and material needs:
For our event we will need tables and chairs to set-up our registration and sign in area as
you walk in for the dodge ball camp. We also need proper official dodge ball balls to use for the
camp and tournament. At Bristles we have plenty of official balls that we use so we will be able
to provide them. We also will need proper whistles and clipboards to go through the camp and
help explain the game and how it is played which we will also provide from Bristles.
Pricing philosophy and information:
For our pricing philosophy we provide camps and tournaments for people of all ages to
participate in. We have charges to take the camps we provide as well as a playing fee for the
tournament or event we are providing but it is very reasonable and we are always willing to work
with people and come up with better ways to provide cost friendly leisure. We provide fun
leisure but we do need to charge fees in order to keep providing these types of camps and
activities. Since we also provide shirts and grand prizes for each event we also need to think
about those costs when thinking about fees to takes these camps and participate.
Budget:
For our budget philosophy we hope to make a lot of money from our camps and
tournaments. We are not solely money based and income oriented because we mainly focus on
proving informative, fun leisure for all age groups. For our budget we have costs such as
proving the proper staff for the camps and events, providing materials, prizes and tee shirts, and
also venue use costs. We make income from sponsors and also a lot of money from the camp
fees and tournament fees as well.
Animation/Sequencing/Flow Plan:
For our dodge ball camp we will be providing the flow chart looks like the days will do
like this. The kids and teens will show up around eight oclock and everyday registration will be
done once they arrive. Then at nine oclock the camp will begin and training as well. There are
multiple breaks in the training and camp days which run until around twelve oclock and that is
when dismissal is until the next day.
Evaluation Plan:
For our evaluation plan we will look over the success of the event and how much the kids
and teen learned as well as how the camp and tournament did financially. We will also create a
questionnaire for each kid or teen to fill out about their experience and what the liked and
disliked about the event so we know to do different next time. These types of evaluation are
crucial for us to take into account and look over to see how we did and how satisfied everyone
was. The results of our survey are very important for us because our number one goal is to
provide informative but fun leisure activities for all age groups.
