Content
The Zine was made such as project of the "workshop of editorial production" class; in this
case the objective was to redesign a magazine.
The chosen magazine its named homos and had a gay content, my own approach it was
create with a concept a most attractive piece of entertainment.

Problem
Find a concept that defines the content of the magazine
Create a dummy with the redesign for Homos magazine using the concept for
make a most attractive product.

Diagnosis

In this case the observation of the original magazine determined that his design was not
communicative, not invited to the reading and was little concrete.

The purpose was to create a kind of magazine-object with which the receptor interacts
differently than a typical magazine, was probably based in a Jorge Frascara (1994) text
about design, in this he says that the emphasis should be placed on the design of a
communicational situation in which the user interacts with designed and not totaly in the
physical design.

Proposal design

From a brainstorm was determined that the concept should be focused on the voyeuristic
act in which every spectator participates with certain objects and as also happens with
every magazine.

The concept was applied to the physical magazine so that when someone reading the
magazine and get to the part of the gallery must break certain leaves for observe the erotic
content, for this way the user interacts with designed.

The name of the magazine changed of "Homos" to "Homo Zine" becasue "Zine" it's
associated to independent publications, this election was based by the idea to make it a
more handmade product and with characteristic for a unique object.

The format chosen was a pocket magazine relating it to the erotic magazines and fagzines
from the 70's. The content was also modified to addressing topics such as art, film and
literature.

The editorial design was proposed from a combination of two features, first have a many
negative spaces and a minimalistic use of the elements,. and second some interventions
with drawings, scratches and stains reprising aspects of punk graphics.
