Land should be stratified according to ecosystems, water regimes, type and amount of organic amendments, and other conditions under
which CH
4
emissions from rice may vary. The disaggregation of the annual harvest area of rice needs to be done at least for three baseline
water regimes including irrigated, rainfed, and upland. Within each stratum, sub-strata should be separated for each type of organic
amendment (see Equation 5.3)
