Nearly 3 in 4 managers see stronger economy ahead

Seventy-two percent of fund managers expect the world economy to strengthen over the coming
year, according to the Merrill Lynch Survey of Fund Managers for September.
The survey of 234 fund managers, managing a combined $667 billion, shows cash balances
increasing to 4.1% of total assets, up 0.4 percentage points from a month earlier. Managers who
were overweight cash was a net 10%, down seven percentage points from a month earlier, and
those managers overweight equities dropped to a net 27%, down seven percentage points.
“September's jump in cash levels and lower equity exposure shows that investors' risk appetite lags
their confidence in the recovery,” Gary Baker, head of European equity strategy at Banc of America
Securities-Merrill Lynch Research, said in a news release about the survey findings.
“The consensus expects a global recovery but expects it to be below trend and not inflationary,”
Michael Hartnett, chief global equities strategist, said in the release.
A net 1% of respondents was underweight the eurozone, although 10% were underweight U.K.
equities, down three percentage points from August.

thereby boosting recruiting ROI," adds Roychoudhury.

A little know fact is that when we’ve been in the workplace for a while, we tend to take certain things
for granted such as our communication style. Just like anything else that we do “only perfect practice
makes perfect” and when we tend to get a little slack in our delivery. Normally this is due to a bit of
overconfidence that results ironically from having been recognized as being a good communicator.
There’s way too much talented competition out there to expect hiring managers to overlook flubs so
