WHAT IS COGNATION:
Cog'nation' is the learning society of SNU, which binds all the
aspects of knowledge and education. It gives an opportunity to
explore the deep passions of students by providing the apt
environment for studies.
We believe in the fact that our education is not confined to the
courses that we got registered into, or any of those lists of
subjects, or textbooks, or the notes that we ever take down. We
in Cog'nation' we leave no stone unturned.
WHAT WE WILL DO:
We help you master your subject or any kind of knowledge that
you want to acquire, in an innovative way. We help in getting
your basics clear so that you grasp your subject to the best in
order to apply it .
We try to put up healthy group discussions and try to bring out
your innovations and help you know your passions the best!!

Every student has both strengths and shortcomings. Through
this society, one can help others and themselves to improve their
strengths and work on their shortcomings.
Enhance the skill of group discussion. Helpful when you
become bureaucrat (IAS & IPS).

Post your doubts on our discussion boards and get them
clarified.
This is how it works when you post your doubt, anyone
who can clarify it will comment saying, I can clarify it. We
can meet at a particular place and discuss regarding it.

Besides courses we have many
interests like psychology,
aerospace, astrology, astronomy, movies, technology,
latest researches, genetics, philosophy, archeology,
anthropology, mythology, forensic, etc.,
o We help you in gathering information, connecting with
others with similar interests etc.
Many ideas run across our mind all the time. Some of them look
trivial, some look weird & interesting.
We will take up those ideas and work on them to make them real.
Because, ideas are the roots of breathtaking inventions.

We need to discuss among ourselves to share different
ideas and things happening around us..
We need guidance of eminent personalities to reach our
goal, Our seminars will help in this regard

Our work is divided into different departments.

Administration(decides how to do)
Operations(execution)

RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS
This department gather all the information and analyze the trends of
doubts in the students.
Basic works of the department

Preparing quick notes and slides

Get slides, quizzes, assignments, video lectures and reference

books on those topics.

Create own set of questions and solutions

Get statistics and check the topics that students feel difficult.

Speak with the faculty about those topics and remedies.

ADMINISTRATION
Decides the tasks of the society.

Responsible for all negotiations with HOD, Dean and higher

positions.

Responsible for all happenings in the society.

Decides the new programs and modify the existing programs

based on the information from R & A.
OPERATIONS
Will Organize all the events of the society.

Should take care of all the belongings of the society

Should take active part in the discussions and respond to questions

from students.

All the events ( May be seminars or lectures or quizzes) will be handled

by them.

If there is any help needed from faculty these people should speak with
them.
PUBLICITY
Takes care of all types of publicity.

Should take care of logos and posters for all events.

Should send mails on behalf of society.

Should post on pages and groups of Cog'nation' in Facebook and

Google+

Group Discussions and Quizzes

Presentation of some interesting videos.

TEDx event in our university (in monsoon 14) For which need to start working in
this sem
Prizes for winners:
The Winners of the events will be awarded special points ( no of points will
be dependent on the event) . These points will be evaluated every month and the
student with max points will be given a certificate (or some gift) in a seminar. And
final evaluation will be done at the end of the sem., when we will keep an
entertainment event and give a memento to him
Department with the points will be awarded special privileges in the next
sem.,

Publicity:
For publicity besides the posters, we will get some jackets.
For the video that we will present an article( max 700 words) should be written which will be published in e
news paper.
On16.1.14
In this meeting the further proceedings, launching the society and work distribution are
discussed.
Results of the meeting

Society's major events will not be launched to students now. But the name few features like quick notes.
Will be made open through FB page.

Society's website will all the features will be made available to students after Breeze - 14.

In this time we have to work on the features that we give to students like Quick notes, Discussions,
references, Video presentations, Seminars etc.,

In the mean time we will sponsor(technical support) other clubs and get publicity in Breeze - 14.
