The DS-58[20] is a member of the DS series of Electric
Encoders, based on Netzer Precision proprietary technology.
These encoders oer many advantages, some unparalleled:
Low prole (10 mm).
Hollow, oang sha.
No bearings or other contacng elements.
High precision.
High tolerance to temperature, shock, moisture, EMI & RFI.
Insensive to magnec elds.
Very low weight.
The DS-58 is suited to demanding applicaon such as: aerospace,
medical, instrumentaon, automaon, etc.

Absolute position, rotary Electric Encoder
The holisc

structure

of the Electric Encoder
provides generous mounng tolerance, thus
obviang the need for internal ball bearings.
The lack of bearings and components such as
exible couplers, glass disc, light sources and
detectors, along with very low power consumpon
makes the DS-58 encoder virtually failure free.
The internally shielded, DC operated
Electric Encoder includes an electric eld
generator, a eld receiver, a sinusoidal shaped
dielectric rotor, and processing electronics.
The outputs signals of DS-58 Electric Encoder
are analog Sine / Cosine represenng the
rotaon angle, incremental or absolute posion.
