The climate change impacts which I will be focusing on is drought.

I believe
that drought is one of the natural disasters which really afect the livelihood
of human beings and all other living things on the earth, the reason being
that water is the essence of every living thing. It is possible to survive without
food for weeks, but it is not possible to survive without water after three
days. Hence, drought has really bad consequences to the inhabitants on
Earth.
There are four maor dangers of drought ! hunger and famine, thirst, disease
and wild"res #$est, %&'(). *rought "rst causes famine, because there is not
enough water supply to irrigate agricultural lands and the food sources will
deplete. +urthermore, when the drought gets more severe, the drinking water
supply also depletes badly and people might thirst to death. $herever there
is drought, disease and wild"res seem to follow. *iseases spread much more
easily when there is drought due to lack of clean water supply ! people drink
and bathe from polluted rivers and ponds. *uring a drought, the amount of
moisture in the air is much lower, thus creating the best situation for "res to
be started. Eventually, all these situations will result in social con,ict, war
and migration of the society #$est, %&'(). -eople will be competing for food
and water resources, or they might prefer the idea of moving to a better
place.
*rought is commonly blamed on the change in weather patterns, thus certain
places would have less rain and snow over a long period of time #$est, %&'().
The amount of precipitation varies from time to time and from place to place.
However, when a place has much less precipitation for a longer time,
probably a year or more, this will result in a terrible drought. *rought can also
be caused by human activities ! overconsumption of water and polluted water
supply #$est, %&'(). $hen the usage of water e.ceeds the available water
supply, there is a higher tendency for drought to occur.
It is not really possible to stop drought from occuring if it is caused by
changing weather patterns. However, we can reduce the negative impacts
from droughts. +or a start, we all have to learn to conserve water and have
our own water supply. /onserving water means only using the amount
needed and reusing the water for other purposes if possible. +or e.ample, we
should not leave the tap running when we brush our teeth or wash the
dishes.
