When a stuuent is suspenueu, the piincipal oi uesignee will make a ieasonable effoit to
contact anu infoim the paient oi guaiuian. In no case shall a minoi stuuent living with
a paient oi guaiuian be sent home uuiing the school uay unless the paient oi guaiuian
has been notifieu. Within one uay of the suspension, the piincipal oi uesignee will senu
a notice to the paient oi guaiuian containing the following infoimation:
1. The reason for the suspension.
2. The uate anu time the stuuent will be peimitteu to ietuin to school.
3. A request that the parent attend a conference to discuss the students behavior.
Students suspended from school are not to be on school property at any time during the
suspension period. This includes school buses and after-school activities. Failure to comply
will result in trespass charges being filed and additional suspension time and/or social
probation. Students will receive zeroes on assignments due during a suspension. An
exception is a long-term assignment (research paper, project, etc.) assigned prior to the
suspension. Students may make up work while suspended if they attend the Day Reporting
Center at the Boys and Girls Club for the duration of the suspension. This option may not be
available at the discretion of the administration for reasons of order and safety.
