Maybe you had heard something about leadership and had many questions about it.
How I can have leadership? How I can identify a good leader? Am I a leader?
However, no matter how long time have you been studying the subject if you do not have a
dream, you cannot do anything.
Firstly, what is dream? Dream is the capacity to create a passionate vision, make it a
reality and sustain it for a less time. Additionally, the capacity has a close relation with the
vision that is like the gasoline for the car. So, if you believe that you can do something you
are going to feel with the necessary strength to go for it. In other words, if you have a
vision and you dream with it there isnt anything that can stop you.
Secondly, what are the skills that characterize a leader? A leader has to be a
visionary as I said before, the vision is necessity because this would help her or him or even
you can carry out the goals. Second, a leader needs to have commitment, but why? The
commitment is the skill that will give you the energy that enables the dream to become a
goal and the goal a reality. To commit oneself requires the soul and the body.
In addition to, a leader needs an effective communication that requires: good rapport
between the people, avoid jargon if the conversation is with people that are not in the same
level of knowledge, listen actively and be critical of the act to can take better decisions. A
leader also needs integrity that will make the others people trust on him or her because
stand out because of her or his values. Besides, a leader needs to be realist, namely, need to
act according to the possibilities and despite of it continues dreaming. Sometimes the time
to make true your dream is not now but it does not mean that you cannot do it, because you
could obtain the resources later. Lastly, a good leader needs to have intuition that is the act
or faculty of knowing or sensing without the use of [complete data] and it has a relation
with taking risks.
In essence, a leader is the person who has the capacity or the skills to lead other
people. With this in mind, the skills that need a leader are vision, commitment,
communication, integrity, reality and intuition. There are people that had born with the
leader's skills but there are others that need or even should practice those skills to became a
good one. However, there is something that maybe could be the essential part and this is
DREAM. Dream is involved with having the hope of turn an idea into a reality and this
require hard work. So, do not stop dreaming.
