Introduction:
Information and Communication
Technology (ICT) has changed the traditional
methods of library activities and services
providing new dimensions for teaching, learning
and research in higher educational institutions.
Libraries are under pressure to provide quick
services to its patrons to meet their
requirements. Therefore, Libraries and Librarian
need to adopt latest ICT tools to manage the
libraries effectively and efficiently.
The aim to this workshop is to provide
hands on practices global known content
management system i.e. Joomla and well known
integrated library management software i.e.
Koha.

About Koha
Koha is the first Open
Source Integrated Library
Management System
(ILMS) which includes Acquisition, Cataloguing,
Circulation, Serial Control and Online Public
Access Catalogue with many more advanced
features. Koha supports International library
standards and protocols which ensures
interoperability between Koha & any other library
management System.
It supports technologies and international
standards such as MARC 21, RFID, z39.50, web
2.0 etc. The software is fully customizable and
includes all modules expected in any standard
library management system.

DR. D.A. HENDERSON LIBRARY AND
DOCUMENTATION CENTRE
The Library and Documentation Centre is well
stocked with latest collection of books and
provides user-friendly services and facilities. The
library well- equipped with modern state of art
infrastructure. The objective of the library is to
provide its user, articles or material on current
topics or affairs in minimum amount of time most
effectively and to provide users with accurate
information enabling the Institute (IIHMR-Jaipur)
to achieve excellence in teaching, learning,
research, and community services. The library
has a unique collection of publications in various
fields, such as Health Management, Hospital
Administration, Health Economics and Finance,
Public Health, Healthcare IT, General
Management, Management Information
Systems, Population Studies, Demography,
Research Methodology, Sociology, Economics,
Computer Science and also has collection of
books of general interest and valuable reference
and rare books. It consists of three functional
units viz., Technical Unit, Documentation Unit,
Information Unit.

research scholars and other who have interest
in design and development of website and also
have interest to automate their libraries by
using Koha and Joomla.
