Title : A report on disciplinary cases in SME High School

To : Mr. Choi Minho , the Principal of SME High School

Nowadays, there is a rise in disciplinary cases in SME High School. A lot of cases have been
reported to the school authorities during the last semester until today. The cases are being reported
by students from different forms and this clearly shows that disciplinary cases occur among students
without specific age. As the Head Prefect of SME High School, I notice that all of these cases are
worrying all the school members and these things will definitely give the bad effects to our school.
The high disciplinary cases recorded in school will bleak the schools reputation in future. We have to
take it seriously to prevent these matters from being increased day by day.
One of the factors causing the increase in disciplinary cases is the lack of parents attention.
During this millenium of technology and reformations, everybody seems to be so busy with their
work including majority of or students parents. As the results, the students become wilder and
naughtier without their parents care. Also, the lack of parents attention causes the students who
are teenagers to find their own company who are among their ages. This matter will indirectly leads
to peer pressure. Friends are the people who are the most intimate to all students or teenagers. They
are easily influenced by their peers according to whom they befriend. Its become an enormous
problem when these students choose the wrong one as their friends. The negative friends will
definitely lead the teenagers to be bad students. For example, bad students usually behave rudely
towards the teachers and being vandalism just to satisfy their ownselves. They always like to damage
school property such as public phone booths, school desks, chairs and many more.
Lack of moral values among students is also a factor that contributes to the increasing of
disciplinary cases in our school. Without good care from the families and teachers, these students are
gradually become less polite and have less moral values in themselves. Positive moral values are very
important for a person in order to have a good manner in life. Lack of moral values will definitely
promote to many more cases and problems. Next, due to the influence from the peers and with less
moral values in students, they will also have no interest in studies. Some of them are even go to
school with only one simple reason which is having fun with their friends. They used to be ignorance
about their studies and do not take lessons as a serious matter. This thing will cause larger problem
to be occured such as the students achievement in academic will be deteriorating.
On the other hand, disciplinary cases are also increasing as the students are being effected by
the influence from mass media. Nowadays, all students are always being exposed to the improper act
and scene of dramas or shows from the mass media. Teenagers are one of the levels in growth stage
which people experience to be more easily influenced by others. In other words, all of the students
who are also called teenagers are easily influenced by those dramas either it has negative affects or
not. For improper dramas, the acts usually give the bad effects to students like stealing, vandalisms,
playing truants and also skip classes. These exposures will affect teenagers to do the same thing as
shown. Furthermore, financial problems that are undergo by certain students from the poor families
background usually lead them to commit the crime in school such as stealing. At first, they commit
this crime when they are really desperate and sooner they become addict to steal.
For my suggestions,parents need to spend more time with their children instead of working
non-stop at their offices. Children at teenage level need more attention as their hormones changing
and increasing at this stage. Besides, couselling session and Craing School Programmeshould be
held to help these teenagers to face their problems and complicated situations at school. Then,
motivational talks are also one effective way of slowly changing the students attitude and reduce
disciplinary cases. To be more impressive, we need to invite the famous and well known motivators
in order to encourage our students in improving themselves.
My next suggestion is that we have stress the students on moral values because moral lesson
is the basic of being polite and discipline in life. For stressing on moral values, we should have an
enforcement of school rules. We must add more punishments for the naugthty and mischievous
students who love to break the school rules. We have to strengthen the rules so that the quantity of
students who are always breaking the ordinance will be decrease and becomes a minority.
In a nutshell, all of the school authorities need to play the parts for changing the attitudes of
our students. If everybody play the roles together, the disciplinary cases in our school will gradually
decreasing so that we can gain our high reputation again soon. Thats all reports from me for now.
We as the SME High Schools prefects will be more determine and strict in our duties and
