1. The second voice begins as soon as the rst voice reaches the number 2 in the beginning of each
movement. Both rst and second voices should end at their respective numbers at the close of each
movement.
2. Accidentals apply to the whole measure in a given octave provided they are not cancelled.
3. Tenuto and staccato marks are indicated where their importance is most pronounced. Slurs should
only be executed where notated.
4. Decrescendi should be performed by sliding away the relevant ngers to raise the pitch while
simultaneously lowering breath pressure so that the end result is a pitch that stays the same while
gradually becoming softer. Crescendi should be done by using increasing breath pressure.
5. Trills should be executed from main note to upper neighbor.
" att." = attement: a nger vibrato produced over the rst open hole. It is important that
trills and attement extend only as long as extension line that follows them.
6. Numeric notation of ngerings begins with 0 for the thumb and progresses through 7 for all
ngers down.
