Add a disk
This lab is predicated upon having an existing Windows Server Virtual Machine which is not using the
VMware Paravirtual SCSI driver.
1. In your VM, run the Device Manager

2. Now, shut down the VM

8. It does not matter what size the new disk is, or what Provisioning.

9. The new disk must be on a new SCSI controller. If the existing disk is SCSI 0:0, then make the
new disk SCSI 1:0

12. Now select the: New SCSI Controller and choose: Change Type

18. Right-click on the Unallocated Space and choose: Initialize

19. You may also format and use the disk if you choose to do so.

26. Be sure to select: Remove from Virtual Machine and delete files from disk

27. When the VM is powered back on, the device manager should show the new VMware PVSCSI
Controller
