HYMNs OF PRAISE
7:30 a.m. 11:00 a.m.
No, Not One O, HOW I LOVE JESUS
Verse I Verse I
There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus There is a name I love to hear,
No, not one! No, not one! I love to sing its worth,
None else could heal all our soul’s diseases It sounds like music in my ear,
No, not one! No, not one! The sweetest name on earth.
Chorus Chorus
Jesus knows all about our struggles, O, how I love Jesus, O, how I love Jesus,
He will guide till the day is done; O, how I love Jesus, because He first loved me.
There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus
No, not one! No, not one! Verse II
It tells me of a Savior’s love
Verse II Who died to set me free,
No friend like Him is so high and holy It tells me of His precious blood,
No, not one! No, not one! The sinner’s perfect plea.
And yet no friend is so meek and lowly (Chorus)
No, not one! No, not one!
(Repeat chorus) Verse III
It tells me what my Father
Verse III Has in store for ev’ry day,
There’s not an hour that He is not near us And though I tread a gloomy path,
No, not one! No, not one! Yields sunshine all the way.
No night so dark but His love can cheer us (Chorus)
No, not one! No, not one!
(Repeat chorus) Verse IV
It tells of One whose loving heart,
Verse IV Can feel my deepest woe,
Was e’er a gift like the Savior given? Who in each sorrow bears a part,
No, not one! No, not one! That none can bear below.
Will he refuse us a home in heaven? (Chorus)
No, not one! No, not one!
(Repeat chorus)

STEWARDSHIP
the results of a Redeemed LifE
It’s not supposed to hurt
I
know why people turn various shades of red when the pastor
gets up on a given Sunday and talks about their stewardship –
especially that part of our stewardship we call our “treasure.” Let
me tell you why.
When you go to the doctor for a routine physical exam, you are asked to
take off your shirt or blouse. Once you do, the physician begins pressing
and probing and poking all around your chest and back. Usually it’s not
a big problem, just a little ticklish or annoying. Then, all of a sudden,
the doctor begins to strike out for new territory and presses on a new
area of your body. Just as suddenly, you flinch and blurt out, “ouch!”
The physician gets a surprised look on his face, obviously puzzled by
your reaction. You can see it all over his face. The doctor says, “I’m
sorry, but I have to probe that area again. I promise to be careful and
gentle.” But when the doctor hits the same area you grimaced over, sure
enough, once again you recoil, flinch and let out a little louder “ouch!”
The physician says, “I’m sorry, I had to do that, but it’s not supposed to
hurt there! That part isn’t supposed to be sensitive!”
Likewise, when your pastor speaks to you from God’s Word about
your treasure – about the way you manage all the gifts God has given
you – when your pastor touches on returning to God a portion of what
God has given you to manage and take care of, it’s not supposed to be
sensitive there! What might it say about us when the pastor talks about
our stewardship, and we yell, “Ouch!” YOU KNOW, JESUS SAID
THAT IT’S NOT SUPPOSED TO HURT THERE!”
