NUTRITION IN INDIA
India is the second most populous country in
the World. Despite several growths oriented
policies adopted by Government. The widening
economic regional and gender disparities are
posing challenges for the health sector. About
75% of health, infrastructure, medical main
power and other health resources are
concentrated in urban areas where 27% of
population lives. Contagious, infectious and
water-borne diseases dominate the rural areas.
The health status of Indians is a great concern
especially that of rural population.

CLIMATIC CONDITIONS OF INDIA
(SOCIAL SCIENCE)
India has 4 seasons namely:
1. Winter season (January February)
2. Summer season (March May)
3. Monsoon rainy season (June September)
4. Post monsoon period (October December)

As the Earths highest and most massive
mountain range, the Himalayas bar the influx
of icy winds from central Asia. Most of North
India is thus kept warm during winters.

NUTRITION IN JAPAN
Scientists have been researching the health of
the Japanese culture for a long time now.
What they found was not only a healthy diet
but also a healthy mindset. Japan has the
longest life expectation in the world. They were
named the healthiest nation by ABC news. The
Japanese diet is made of 3 things:
1. Rice
2. Seasonal fruits and vegetables
3. Sea food

(SOCIAL SCIENCE)
Japan is a rainy and highly humid country.
Japan has varied climate temperatures due to
its extended geography. It has mainly 4 seasons
in a year: spring season, summer season,
autumn season and winter season.

NUTRITION IN SOUTH AFRICA
Various infections like diarrhea and respiratory
diseases, measles and infection with HIV have a
major impact on nutritional status. The
interaction of infection and inadequate food
consumption causes growth retardation in
children, leading to a vicious circle, the
malnutrition infection complex.

CLIMATIC CONDITIONS IN S. AFRICA

World. Such a large land mass has a wide
variety of climates. First, tropical rain forests,
humid sub-tropical, Mediterranean, savannah,

STUDENTS REPORT
As I conclude my English project, I think for a
while and observe that its making has been a
rewarding journey. The countries taken for
case-study were Africa, England, India and
Japan. Searching through various internet sites
and collecting data from reference books has
enhanced my knowledge. I observed that a
country that gives its citizens the best in health
and nutrition is progressing at a greater pace
than a country which lacks behind in this field.
I would like to thank our English teacher Mrs
Christina Bose for choosing such an interesting
topic and guiding us through. I would like to
thank my mother, who gave me some
valuable suggestions.

risk of getting diabetes, heart diseases and
cancer. It also affects self-esteem and mental
health.
