God has blessed the University
of Iowa and Iowa City! We have
students that are passionately
pursuing His kingdom here on Earth!
It’s been a great blessing to myself
to be a part of the chapter plant
who reaches out to all peoples,
faiths and family backgrounds and
seeks to unite them as God’s people.
God has blessed me with
meeting many students from different

This winter is InterVarsity’s global missions conference, Urbana. This
winter, 13 University of Iowa students will be attending this life-changing
conference with 20,000 other students from around the globe! Students will
be studying scripture, hearing how God is moving around the world and
learning how to be a missionary to their peers, campus and the world!

1. Football
The Hawkeyes is our team,
and we had an excellent
season! I loved watching
our 10-2 season with my
students.
2. Iowa City
Iowa City, IA is the city that
grew around the university.
The old capital, this city
boasts of all the delights of
theaters, arts, eclectic shops,
ethnic dining and a vibrant
night life.
3. Floods
Flooding in the summer of
2008 damaged many cities
in Iowa, but especially
Iowa City. Campus
buildings and housing is
still under construction
after the disaster.

Students attended Fall Conference
’09, a retreat for all students in
the Iowa region. Worship,
prayer, camping, quiet time with
God and and community blessed
our group this fall.

More about the Students
Stella: An international student from Asia who came with a strong
curiosity about Christ. In early November, she made the decision to follow
Jesus! We threw a party and have been celebrating ever since.
Maria: A local Iowa student, Maria has a vibrant, quick witted personality
and a newfound thirst for understanding her relationship with God. A senior
who is a religious attendee of church found herself opening the Bible for the
first time in our study. Now she has read over 10 books of the Bible and next
semester will have an in depth study in Ruth with me.
Jay: A warm-hearted Asian international student who got his curiosity of
Jesus from loving American Gospel Choir music, Jay continues to amaze us
as he understands more & more of what Christianity really is.
Aundrea: is another local Iowa student who is a down-to-earth socialite
and loves to tell people about Jesus! Her joy is overflowing, even in times of
family difficulties and financial uncertainties!
More about the Staff
Sarah: is a delight! Sarah has great organizational skills, bakes fantastic
desserts and is my roommate. We bond over cheesy jokes, our love for Jesus
and our joy of cooking and baking. Whether it’s banana bread or spinach
lasagna, our kitchen always wafts out mouth-watering smells.
Brian: has a gift for understanding different cultures and is always up to
trying new things. He has met many of the international students at the
university and along the way has picked up curry culinary skills. His love of
Jesus and justice has brought students, locals and even the homeless to our
doors for a home-cooked meal.
Brett: A strong man whom God speaks through, he has the gifts of prayer
and preaching. His individual conversations with students are compelling and
his ability to speak into other people’s lives is valued. Surrounded by 3
cooking friends, he’s been picking up some fine cooking skills.
