naturalgas)proposedforMarylandthatwouldprocessandexportliquidnaturalgasfromtheMarcellus
shaleinPAonlargeships.OnMonday,24people,somefromPA,werearrestedforsittinginatthe
FederalEnergyRegulatoryCommission(FERC)headquartersthatarerubberstampingafrenzyof
frackednaturalgasprojectsthroughoutthenationwhilenotconsideringthefullandcomplete
environmentalimpactandcommunityharmtotheseprojects.OnJune6,TheUSCourtofAppealsfor

awaytheirlandownerrightstothecorporation,andorganizingtogetherwithothercommunitiesalong
theproposedrouteandwithintheantifrackingcommunitytoopposethepipeline,duetoitsharmto
communitiesinthedrillingregionsandbeyond.Nofrackedgaspipelinepathisagoodpath.ItisaDavid
andGoliathfightbutwellworththoseofusinPennsylvaniawhohavelivedhereforgenerationsandcall
theCommonwealthourhome.ItisourrightandtherightofeveryPennsylvaniantoraisefamiliesina
healthyandsafeenvironmentandtonotgetourpropertytakenbyeminentdomainbecausea
multibilliondollarcorporationwantstoexportgastothehighestforeignbidder.Forabrightfuturein
PAweneedtosustainandcreategoodjobsinsustainablebusinessesthatwillbehereforthelongterm
andnotbedupedbyanotherfossilfuelboomandbustnightmarethatmakesussickandcausespeople
(whohavetheoptionandmeans)tomoveawayfromthestatewhileothersstaybehindwiththelegacy
pollutionandsicknessthatremains.
WilliamsAtlanticSunrisepipelinewouldcarryradioactivegasatextremelyhighpressurealongitsroute,
includecompressorstationswhichemitharmfulcarcinogenicairpollutionincludingvolatileorganic
compounds(VOCs),andbuildanexpansivenewROWthatwouldimpactpeoplespropertyvalues,soils,
wetlands,streams,andforestsalongitsroute.AccordingtoWilliamswebsite,Thepreliminaryproject
designincludesatotalofapproximately178milesofnewgreenfieldpipe(CentralPennNorth&Central
PennSouth),twopipelineloopstotalingabout12miles(ChapmanLoop,UnityLoop),twoandhalfmiles
ofexistingpipelinereplacement,twonewcompressorfacilitiesinPennsylvania,andotherfacility
additionsormodificationsinfivestates(Pennsylvania,Maryland,Virginia,NorthCarolina,South
Carolina).
Williams,accordingtoarecentAParticlehashadastringofviolationsandmalfunctions,includinga
largeexplosionMarch31ataliquefiednaturalgasstoragefacilityineasternWashingtonstate,injuring

fiveworkers,causinghundredstoevacuatefromnearbyfarmsandhomes,andemittingamushroom
cloudofblacksmokethatwasvisibleformorethanamile.AccordingtotheAP,asheriff'sdeputysaid
theexplosionthrew250poundpiecesofsteelupto300yardsintheairandcalledit"alittlebitofa
miracle"thatnoonewaskilled.FERChasannouncedscopingmeetingsthefirstweekofAugust.The
