General Rules of DanceSport Competition

1. All entry forms and COMPLETE requirements must be submitted to the DanceSport Training Center,
Philsports Complex, Meralco Avenue, Pasig City or dancesportphils@yahoo.com on or before August
13, 2014 (Wednesday) as follows:
a. Duly filled up entry form
b. Photocopy of competitors Birth Certificate
c. LGU Couples Endorsement from the Governors Office OR Mayors Office OR Barangay
Captain
2. Age limit requirements are based on the year of birth.
Juvenile Born 2003 or later; Junior Born 1999 to 2002.
The age of the older partner will be the basis for the qualification on the category.
3. All Juvenile category competitors must follow the prescribed DSCPI syllabus and routine.
4. Costume and dress regulations for both Juvenile and Junior will be STRICTLY ENFORCED and may
result to immediate elimination from joining the competition. Parents/guardians, and coaches, please
strictly follow below:
Male competitors may only use
Juveniles: Plain white long sleeve which must be tucked in
Juniors: black or white plain long sleeved shirt
Black only trousers
Black only tie or bow tie
Juniors: black only vest is optional
Heel has to be max 2.5cm
Only black socks must be used
Female competitor may only use
White blouse leotard with black plain or pleated skirt or
Colored blouse leotard with same color of skirt or
Simple one piece color dress (except skin color),
Skirt style made of minimum 1 to maximum 3 half circles skirt without frills or boning or fishing line
used
Dress or skirt length must not be more than 10cm above the knee and not longer than just below the
knee cap.
Decorations with light effects or any kind are not allowed,
Heel block for Juveniles has to be max 3.5cm
Heels for Juniors can be maximum of 5cm
Socks of white or any color allowed;
Tights of skin color only allowed; mesh is not allowed
For long hair, hair has to be worn in a ponytail, braided, or collected neatly.
Decoration and colored hairspray not allowed
Make up not allowed
5. No change of partner is allowed in the same event.
6. All competing couples not ready on the floor for their events will be eliminated.
7. The Organizer reserves the right to refuse any entry from any person whose status is unclear.
8. The Organizer reserves the right to change and/or cancel the program of the events without prior
notice.
9. The decision of the adjudicators is final. No communication and/or correspondence will be
entertained.
