Bomb Calorimeter is a fundamental test of great significance to anyone interested in calorific
measurements. Heats of combustion, as determined in an oxygen bomb calorimeter, are measured
by a substitution procedure in which the heat obtained from the sample is compared with the heat
obtained from a standardizing material. In this test, a representative sample is burned in a
high-pressure oxygen atmosphere within a metal pressure vessel or bomb. The energy
released by the combustion is absorbed within the calorimeter and the resulting temperature

SPEAKER PROFILE
Kai-Oliver Linde joined IKA-Werke
GmbH & Co KG in 1994. Calorimeters,
Laboratory reactors and the corresponding
software programs Calwin and labworldsoft
have always been the main focus since.
As Corporate Product Manager for the Analytical
Equipment he was able to gain experience on calorimetry
all over the world including several years of work
experience in regards to calorimetry in the United States.
He is also a member of the DIN and ASTM committees
for coal and coke as well as Petroleum.
