1) A BUSINESS SYSTEM OPTIONS (BSOS) FOR THE ORGANIZATION
WHICH INCLUDED
Introduction
Options Considered
Conclusion
This is the Business System Option (BSOs) for the KPM Seri Iskandar which is System Parking
INTRODUCTION
As KPM Seri Iskandar is a college, also make a manual system parking. This college had uses
many information system to manage the college. So, KPM Seri Iskandar must know which the
additional information system that suitable to apply in the college. KPM Seri Iskandar should
take a note about the implementation efforts, time resources, user impacts and risks involved if
they apply that system.
Below is the option that the KPM Seri Iskandar should be considered based on the system that
had been suggested.
BUSINESS SYSTEM OPTIONS CONSIDERED.
Below is the Business System Option that KPM Seri Iskandar should be considered.
A. Enhance the existing system in both technical areas and business
functionality.
Enhance the existing system for the technical system by upgrade the software and hardware.
This is for the enhancement of the business needs and strategy. As the KPM Seri Iskandar does
not have a systematic parking and the signboard parking, they should make a change in this
problem.

C.Develop a new business.
This is about to re-design a new system with the business functionality and the workflow totally
different from the existing system. KPM Seri Iskandar still uses a manual system parking which
is traditional method to recognize the car enter and out in college. This is not good for the KPM

Seri Iskandar to have the manual system parking. So KPM Seri Iskandar should change this
manual method to the system method by using systematic parking system.
D. Do Nothing.
This is about no changes from the existing system. KPM Seri Iskandar never make a change
about the problem such as provide signboard and space parking for all students such as hostel
siswa and siswi
In order to select an option solution of the system, KPM Seri Iskandar should consider for its
benefits, impact and technical.
OPTION A: Enhance the existing system in both technical areas and business
functionality.
In this option, existing system will be enhances including the hardware, software and technical.
This is to meet the technical enhancement. Besides that, the new business requirement
currently not available from the system will be met and some of the business function will be
modified during the technical enhancement process. so, by using the Customer Relationship
Management software, the company can know what is the customer need and wants while
meets the business environment.
There are the advantages by using this option:
The outdated hardware and software will be updated to the currently technology.
The new system is easy to learn. This is because the existing business functional and
workflow is unchanged.
The new business requirement can be supported.
The new business requirement for the system can be built based on the existing
business.
There are also the disadvantages of using this option:
In order to meet the new business needs, longer system design and development time
will be required.

OPTION C: Develop a new business.
This option is about to re-develop a new system from the business functionality and workflow
which is totally different from the existing system. This system will cover the existing system
and also the business requirements. Not only that, the technical environment also will be
conducted. The technical enhancement is including the enhancement of the software and
hardware.
There are advantages by using this:
The whole system in the business will be re-built. This is means, the overall business
system will not be constrained by the existing system.
The outdated hardware and software will be updated to the currently technology.
The new business requirement can be supported.
The technical upgrade and will meet the future interface system.
There are also the disadvantages of the system:
To time needed to re-design the business system could be longer.
Business flow will be re-design and all the existing system business function need to be
re-developed.
The new system will be quite difficult to learn as the workflow and the business system
is different from the existing system.

OPTION D: Do Nothing.
This option is means that there are no changes in the business system to be made.

CONCLUSION
Based of the four options to be chosen, Option C is better to applied in KPM Seri Iskandar. This
is because, the college should change the existing system to the new system. The existing
system that should change is manual system parking to the systematic parking system. As the
college already know that manual system parking can occur many problems such as create a
chaotic situation, there are not enough space parking for all students such as hostel siswa and
siswi, and do not have proper parking for lecturers. But, when using systematic parking
system, it helps college to have the parking is systematic besides that, by using option C, it will
upgrade the existing system to the current technology which is enhancement of software and
hardware. Not only that, by change the existing system, it also can meet the latest technical
requirement in business environment. By using the option C, it helps KPM Seri Iskandar to make
an enhancement in the college.

2) DATA FLOW DIAGRAM OF THE PROPOSED NEW SYSTEM SHOWING
ENTITIES, PROCESSES, DATA STORES AND INFORMATION FLOWS.

According to the (Kozar, 1997), it states the definition of the Data Flow Diagram, Data Flow
Diagramming is a means of representing a system at any level of detail with a graphic network
of symbols showing data flows, data stores, data processes, and data sources/destinations.
DFD is use to show the flow of data in an information system. This diagram uses symbol with
different shapes to indicate how the data flows in the system. Below is the symbols used in the
Data Flow Diagram (DFD).
Symbols Name Function

Process

Any steps that involves
manipulating data

External Entity
A person, organization or
another system that sends
input (data sources) or
receives output data (data
destination).

Data Store
A collection of data kept by
the system in any form, such
as in a file or database.

Data Flow

Direction of the data flow.

1) AN ENTITY RELATIONSHIP DIAGRAM OF THE BUSINESS

According to the (Webopedia, 2013), it stated that entity-relationship (ER) diagram, a graphical
representation of entities and their relationships to each other, typically used in computing in
regard to the organization of data within databases or information systems. An entity is a piece
of data-an objector concept about which data is stored. A relationship is how the data is shared
between entities.
Under the Entity Relationship Diagram, there are three types of cardinalities which is one to one
(1:1), one to many (1:M), and many to many(M:M).
According to the (Webopedia, 2013), it states the definition of the each cardinalities.
one-to-one (1:1): one instance of an entity (A) is associated with one other instance of
another entity (B). For example, in a database of employees, each employee name (A) is
associated with only one social security number (B).
one-to-many (1:M): one instance of an entity (A) is associated with zero, one or many
instances of another entity (B), but for one instance of entity B there is only one instance of
entity A. For example, for a company with all employees working in one building, the building
name (A) is associated with many different employees (B), but those employees all share the
same singular association with entity A.
many-to-many (M:M): one instance of an entity (A) is associated with one, zero or many
instances of another entity (B), and one instance of entity B is associated with one, zero or
many instances of entity A. For example, for a company in which all of its employees work on
multiple projects, each instance of an employee (A) is associated with many instances of a
project (B), and at the same time, each instance of a project (B) has multiple employees (A)
associated with it.
Usually, system analyst will uses ERD to show the design of a database and it is basically about
the relationship between entities in the database. An entity is something about which data is
stored in a database, such as customers, products, an item in inventory or an order.
