OUR HEAVENLY BODIES ARE BEING PERPAIRED FOR US

2 Corinthians 5
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
The Temporal and Eternal
5 For we know that if
[a]
the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from
God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2
For indeed in this house we groan,
longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven,

13
I consider it right, as long as I am in this earthly dwelling, to stir you up by way of
reminder,
14
knowing that the laying aside of my earthly dwelling is imminent, as also our Lord
Jesus Christ has made clear to me. 2 pet 1:13-14
5
Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a
[b]
pledge.
6
Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body
we are absent from the Lord
7
for we walk by faith, not by
[c]
sight
8
we are of good courage, I
say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.2 cor5:4-8

2
Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know
that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.
3
And everyone
who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. 1 john 3:2-3

For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until
now.
23
And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we our
selves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our
body.
24
For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for
what he already sees?
25
But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait
eagerly for it. Romans 8:22-25
45
So also it is written, The first MAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL. The last Adam became a life-
giving spirit.
46
However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual.
47
The first
man is from the earth,
[n]
earthy; the second man is from heaven.
48
As is the earthy, so also are
those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly.
49
Just as we
have borne the image of the earthy,
[o]
we will also bear the image of the heavenly. 1 Cor15:45-

The Mystery of Resurrection
50
Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor
does
[p]
the perishable inherit
[q]
the imperishable.
51
Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all
sleep, but we will all be changed,
52
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet;
for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised
[r]
imperishable, and we will be
changed.
53
For this
[s]
perishable must put on
[t]
the imperishable, and this mortal must put on
immortality.
54
But when this
[u]
perishable will have put on
[v]
the imperishable, and this mortal will
have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, DEATH IS SWALLOWED
UPin victory.
55
O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?
56
The sting of death
is sin, and the power of sin is the law;
57
but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through
our Lord Jesus Christ.1Cor15:50-57
