WARNINGS
Allow the following number of days between last application and harvest or grazing of the crops as listed below: Tomatoes, Cabbages and Cherries 2 days Beans 3 days Table and Wine grapes 7 days Wheat (in mixture with monocrotophos) 30 days
Handle with extreme care. Poisonous when absorbed through the skin, swallowed or inhaled. Toxic to fish, bees and wildlife. Store under lock and key in a cool place away from food and feeds. Do not use in grain mills or stores containing unsealed edible commodities. Due to continued fumigation effect (12 hours or more) overdosing or disregard of warnings and precautions can have serious consequences. Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals. In case of poisoning take patient immediately to nearest physician and make this label available to him.
Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions the registration holder does not warrant that it will be efficacious under all conditions. The action and effect thereof may be effected by factors such as abnormal, climatic and storage conditions, quality of dilution water, compatibility with other substances not indicated on the label and the occurrence of resistance of the pests against the remedy concerned as well as by the method, time and accuracy of application. The registration holder furthermore does not accept responsibility for damage to crops, vegetation, the environment or harm to man or animal or for lack of performance of the remedy concerned due to failure of the user to follow the label instructions or to the occurrence of conditions which could not have been foreseen in terms of the registration. Consult the supplier in the event of any uncertainty.
PRECAUTIONS Do not inhale the spray mist. Avoid exposure to fumes - both of the concentrate and diluted spray. Wear full protective clothing: overalls, rubber boots, gloves and suitable respirator. Wash contaminated clothing immediately after use. Wash with soap and water immediately after use and accidental skin contact. Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst mixing or applying the product or before washing hands and face or changing clothing. Avoid drift of spray onto other crops, grazing, rivers, dams and areas not under treatment. Clean applicator after use. Dispose of wash water where it will not contaminate crops, grazing, rivers, dams and boreholes. Keep treated buildings closed for about 12 hours and ventilate well before re-entry. Prevent contamination of food, feeds, drinking water and eating utensils. Rinse the empty container three times with a volume of clean water equal to a minimum of 10 % of the container. Add the rinsings to the contents of the spray tank. Destroy empty container and do not use it for any other purpose.
SYMPTOMS OF HUMAN POISONING Nausea, headache, tiredness, giddiness, blurred vision and pupillary constriction, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, sweating and salivation. Confusion, ataxia, slurred speech, loss of reflexes are some of the central nervous system effects which may lead to misdiagnosis of acute alcoholism. After inhalation of vapours effects appear within minutes: ocular and respiratory effects. These include marked miosis, ocular pain, conjuctival congestion, diminished vision, ciliary apasm and brow ache. With acute systemic absorption: rhinorrhea, hyperemia of upper respiratory tract, tightness in the chest and wheezing respiration. Severe intoxication: salivation, involuntary defecation and urination, sweating, lacrimation, penile erection, bradycardia and hypotension.
FIRST AID TREATMENT Remove patient from source of poisoning to a well-ventilated area and keep him quiet and reassured. Remove contaminated clothing and rinse contaminated body area thoroughly with plenty of soap and cold water. Do not rub skin hard. Flush contamination out of eyes with clean running water for at least 15 to 20 minutes, holding the eyelid(s) open. If water diluted mixture has been swallowed, rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Do not induce vomiting due to aromatic solvent. Seek medical attention immediately. Administer artificial respiration or closed chest cardiac massage if necessary. Do not apply mouth-to-mouth respiration. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Take the patient immediately to the nearest physician.
NOTE TO PHYSICIAN Administer atropine as early as possible in an adequate dosage until signs of atropinisation (dry, flushed skin, tachycardea and pulse rate over 120 per minute) occur. To prevent gastrointestinal absorption in the unconscious that have swallowed this product, perform stomach lavage using bicarbonate solution and activated charcoal. In less severe cases begin with 2 mg atropine intravenously for adults, or 0,05 mg atropine/kg body weight for children under 12 years of age and repeat administration of the drug at 15 tot 30 minutes intervals. Morphine and similar drugs are contra- indicated. Avoid aminoglycosides and succinylcholine, which have a blocking effect on the neuromuscular junction. Phenothiazines, reserpine and theophylline are contra-indicated.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Use only as recommended. Compatibility: Nuvan 1000 EC is compatible with most insecticides and fungicides of non-alkaline reaction. The compatibility of Nuvan 1000 EC with other products may be influenced by the formulation of the products involved as well as the quality of the water. Since the formulation of other products may change and water quality may vary, a physical compatibility test should always be carried out prior to application.
Mixing instructions: Half fill the spray tank with water. Then add the recommended volume of Nuvan 1000 EC to the water in the spray tank and mix thoroughly. Agitate thoroughly whilst the spray tank is filled to the desired volume and during application. The complete spray tank of Nuvan 1000 EC containing spray mixtures should be applied. Such spray mixture should not be left over-night. Mixing must be done immediately before spraying.
Ground application: Hollow cone nozzle tips. Nuvan 1000 EC can be applied with any conventional or high volume spraying equipment fitted with hollow cone nozzle tips that give medium to fine droplets. Calibrate the apparatus before application to ensure that the correct dosage is applied. The distribution of the spray mixture must be uniform throughout the target area.
