SUCCESSFUL BUSINESSMAN
HENRY SY
Henry Sy is the most successful business man in the
Philippines. He pioneered the establishment of SM Malls,
anchored by Shoemart Department Store and Supermarket
earning him the title, The Philippines Retail King. In 2011, Forbes
Magazine listed him as the no. 1 billionaire in the Philippines.
But what is his secret to his success?
My basic strategy is to stick to my core business, and to my area
of expertise. My businesses are all related retail, shopping
centers, banking, real estate and tourism development. Together they create synergy. Henry
Sy
I started with shoes, and with hard work and discipline, the business prospered. I moved to the
department store business and again, things went well. Henry Sy
Not many people can do it. You may have the interest but not the resources. You may have the
resources and the interest, but not the guts. You have to look long-term. You have to be
optimistic. Henry Sy
LUCIO TAN
He is a chinese-filipino businessman. In 2013, the Forbes
Magazine listed him as the second richest billionaire from the
Philippines with a net worth of $7.5 billion.
In an effort to consolidate his business empire, he established the
L. T. G. (Lucio Tan Group) as a vast holdings entity for all his
stakes in the varied companies that the empire operates. Part of
this undertaking could also serve as a testimony of legitimacy.
The move should resolve if not appease the growing market
perception that to date there is still no clear indication of who
shall rise to succeed and secure his business empire's continuity and to stamp honor to his hard
work and successful business legacy.

UNSUCCESSFUL BUSINESSMAN
JOHN ALLEN MUHAMMAD
John Allen Muhammad, 41, is a serial loser. He is a failed businessman whose karate school and
car-repair business went bust, a twice-divorced father whose ex-wives didn't trust him with his
children, a man whose unremarkably messy life disintegrated into homelessness and theft.
He was a mediocre soldier who was once convicted of striking a sergeant in the head, and he
wasn't "anything special" as a marksman, according to a former platoon leader. But his second
wife once described him as a handy gun enthusiast who can make a weapon out of anything.
ROY RAYMOND
Roy Raymond was an American Business Man and a graduate from the Stanford Graduate
School of Business" and an Alumnus from the "Tufts University. He was the founder of the
Victorias Secret Lingerie Store.
Roy Raymond, felt humiliated in buying for his dear wife a pair of Lingerie in a public

In 1982, after five years of operations, Roy Raymond sold the Victorias Secret company, with
its six stores and 42-page catalogue, grossing $6 million per year, to Leslie Wexner, creator of
The Limited, for $4 million.
"why would a business man sell his $6 million dollar company to a much lesser price to $4
millionwierdo"

QUEEN ELIZABETH II

Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary; born 21 April 1926
[a]
) is
the constitutional monarch of 16 sovereign states, known as
the Commonwealth realms, and their territories and dependencies,
and head of the 53-member Commonwealth of Nations. She
is Supreme Governor of the Church of England and, in some of her
realms, carries the additional title of Defender of the Faith.
Upon her accession on 6 February 1952, Elizabeth became Head of
the Commonwealth and queen regnant of seven independent
Commonwealth countries: the United
Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South
Africa, Pakistan and Ceylon. From 1956 to 1992, the number of her
realms varied as territories gained independence and some realms
became republics. At present, in addition to the first four of the
aforementioned countries, Elizabeth is Queen of Jamaica, Barbados, the
Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent
and the Grenadines, Belize, Antigua and Barbuda, and Saint Kitts and Nevis. Her reign of 62
years is currently the second longest for a British monarch; only Queen Victoria, her great-great
grandmother, has reigned longer, at over 63 years.
Elizabeth was born in London and educated privately at home. Her father acceded to the
throne as George VI in 1936 on the abdication of his brotherEdward VIII, from which time she
was the heir presumptive. She began to undertake public duties during the Second World War,
in which she served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service. In 1947, she married Prince Philip of
Greece and Denmark, with whom she has four children: Charles, Anne,Andrew, and Edward.
Her coronation service took place in 1953 and was the first to be televised.
Elizabeth II's many historic visits and meetings include a state visit to the Republic of
Ireland and reciprocal visits to and from the Pope. Elizabeth has seen major constitutional
changes in her realms, such as devolution in the United Kingdom and the patriation of the
Canadian constitution. Times of personal significance have included the births and marriages of
her children and grandchildren, the investiture of the Prince of Wales, and the celebration of
milestones such as her Silver, Golden, and Diamond Jubilees in 1977, 2002, and 2012,
respectively.
