DODGEBALLRULES

1. TheDodgeballcourtistheBasketballcourt,withacenterlineand2sidelines.
2. DodgeballwillberefereedbytwoTriCenterCheerleaderspermatch.
3. Refereesstartthegame,confirmhitsandcatches,andcountballpossessiontime.
4. Thereare6balls,splitinto2evengroupsneartheendsofthecenterline.Duringtheopeningrush
(whenthegamestarts),youmayonlygrabtheballstoyourright.
5. Youareoutif:1)yousteponoroverasidelineorcenterline2)athrownliveballhitsyourbody
and3)youthrowaliveballanditiscaughtbyanopponent.
6. Athrownliveballcanonlyhitout1player.Thrownballsthathittheground,thewall,otherballs,or
otherobjectsbeforehittingtheopponentareconsidereddeadballs,andareineligibletohit
playersout.
7. Youmayblockathrownballwithaheldball.However,ifyoudroptheblockingballduringtheact
ofblocking,orifyoufailtomakeacleanblock(asinthethrownballstillendsuphittingorgrazing
yourbodyafterwards),youareout.
8. Whenblockingaballwithanother,ifyouhappentopopitupandthencatchittheplayerthatthrew
theballisthenout.
9. Ifyouareout,lineuponthesideintheorderyougotout(thinkofitasbeinginanresurrection
line).Ifyourteammatecatchesaball,theplayeratthestartofyourteamsresurrectionline
comesbackintoplayaftertouchingthewall(theteammatemustbeinthelineatthetimeofthe
catchtobeeligibletobebroughtbackin).
10. Youcanonlyholdaballfor10seconds,afterwards,itwillbeconsidereddead.Deadballsneedto
berolledoverimmediatelytotheotherteam.
11. Ifthegamecomesdownto1playerperside,theyhave10secondstohiteachotheroutifnot,
"Showdown"comesintoeffect.Thegameispaused,eachplayergetstwoballs,twoballsare
linedupattheendsofthecenterline,andthecenterlineisdissolved.Thefirstplayertogetthe
otherplayeroutwins.
