PTE1120


This product does not have functions or properties for automatically handling failures, and
has not been designed or produced for use or sale in combination with communication
systems, the operation of nuclear power plants, the navigation of aircraft, air traffic control
systems, life-support systems, online control units for use in hazardous environments,
weapons systems or other devices which may directly cause death, physical injury, or
serious damage to property or environment in the event of a failure.

Do not connect too much power cables to an outlet tap.

WARNING
Do not connect or disconnect the coupling unit with holding the power cord.
Connect or disconnect the coupling unit with holding the plug, not the power
cord. Plug the coupling unit securely to the outlet with confirming there is no
dust or dirt on the plug. However, do not use an outlet with unstable plugging.
Failure to observe this warning may cause electric shock or fire by electrical
shorts.

Do not use this product outside the allowable operating voltage range. Failure

WARNING
Immediately stop operation and unplug the coupling unit if you detect
overheating, smoke, noise, or strange odors.
I f you detect any of these problems while using the product, stop using it
immediately and unplug the coupling unit. For this purpose, connect the
coupling unit to the outlet tap without any obstacles. Failure to observe this
warning may cause electric shock or fire.
WARNING
Disconnect all cables from this product before moving it.
Confirm all cables are removed from this product before moving it, such as by
unplugging the coupling unit and disconnecting the POTS cable. Failure to
observe this warning may damage the cable, resulting in electric shock or fire.
WARNING
Never open the cabinet, and disassemble, repair, or modify this product.
Only authorized repair personnel or engineers are allowed to disassemble,
repair, or modify this product.
Failure to observe this warning may cause electric shock, burn or fire.
Moreover, opening the cabinet voids the guarantee.
CAUTION
Do not block the ventilation holes.
I nadequate ventilation causes internal heat to build up, resulting in device
malfunction or fire. Do not operate as follows.
E Place this product on a carpet or a mattress.
E Cover this product with a table cloth or etc.
E Cover this product with a blanket or mattress.
E Place this product horizontally.
E Place this product in a location with inadequate ventilation such as in a
bookshelf, a wardrobe or a closet.
CAUTION
Do not use this product in a highly humid location.
Failure to observe this precaution may cause electric shock.
CAUTION
Do not immediately use this product if you move it from a location with highly
different temperature.
Abruptly moving this product from a cold to a warm location causes
condensation inside the product and may damage it. I f condensation does occur,
turn the power off and allow the product to dry completely before turning the
power back on.
For the details of condensation, see Precautions for Installing This
Product. ( p.5)
CAUTION
Do not place this product near fire.
Do not place this product near fire such as a gas or an oil heater. Failure to
observe this precaution may cause electrical shorts by distortion, device
malfunction by overheating or fire.
CAUTION
Be careful not to accidentally disconnect the power cable during use.
Be careful not to trip over the power cable, accidentally unplugging it. Valuable
data may be lost if the cable is disconnected during use.
CAUTION
Unplug the coupling unit and stop using this product if thunder is near your
residence.
Thunder may cause electric shock or fire.

Unplug the coupling unit from the outlet if you don't use this product for a long
term.
Failure to observe this precaution may corrupt the insulator, resulting in
electric shock or fire by short-circuit.

Take intervals for turning the power on again after turning the power off.
Failure to observe this precaution may cause the device to operate abnormally.
CAUTION
Unplug the coupling unit from the outlet when maintaining this product.
Failure to observe this precaution may cause electric shock or fire.

Do not use an extension power cable with the coupling unit.
Failure to observe this precaution may cause fire.

Do not ride on or step on this product.
Specially be careful with a small child. Failure to observe this precaution may
cause the product to physically break down, resulting in bodily injury.

CAUTION
Observe the following precautions when installing this product.


CAUTION
Install this product with leaving at least 5cm spaces around it.
I nadequate ventilation causes internal heat to build up, resulting in
device malfunction.
PROHIBITED
Do not install this product outdoors.
Operation of this product outdoors is not guaranteed.
CAUTION
Install this product in a location with a room temperature of 0C to 45C,
humidity of 10% to 90%, and no condensation.
I f this product is used outside these allowable operating ranges, or
condensation is allowed to form, it may cause device malfunction.
Condensationrefers to water droplets formed on a surface of the
metal board and etc. when water vapor in the air is condensed.
Abruptly moving this product from a cold to a warm location
causes condensation inside the product and may damage it. If
condensation does occur, turn the power off and allow the product
to dry completely before turning the power back on.
PROHIBITED
Do not install this product in direct sunlight or near a heating equipment.
Failure to observe this prohibition may cause device malfunction.
CAUTION
Do not install this product in a location causes physical erosion resulting
from liquid or vapor, such as water or oil.
Failure to observe this precaution may cause device malfunction.

Do not install this product in a location causes magnetic or electromagnetic
interference such as by an electric device, an AV device or an OA device
(including a microwave oven, a speaker, a TV, a radio, a fluorescent light, an
electric heater, an inverter air conditioner and an electromagnetic cooking
device).

malfunction or fire. Do not operate as follows.
E I nterference by magnetic wave or electrical noise may cause high noise or
disable communication (especially interfered by using a microwave oven).
E I nstalling this product near a TV or a radio may cause radio noise or screen
flicker.
E Change the location to install this product if a nearby broadcasting station,
radio station or etc. causes high noise.
CAUTION
Do not install this product in a location (such as a volcanic area) causes
physical erosion resulting from hydrogen sulfide.
Failure to observe this precaution may shorten the life of product.

Daily Maintenance
Observe the following precautions when maintaining this product.
E Use a soft cloth to remove stains on the cover. I f stains are severe, first wipe this
product with a well squeezed cloth soaked in diluted neutral detergent, then wipe it
again with a dried cloth.
E Do not wipe this product with a microfiber cloth, or remove stains with chemicals
such as benzene or thinner. Failure to observe this precaution may result in product
distortion or color corruption.
E Do not allow the volatile liquid, such as insecticide, to splash on this product. Also,
do not place rubber, plastic, adhesive tape or etc. on this product for a long term.

This chapter describes how to install and connect PTE1120.


Installing PTE1120
I nstall PTE1120 with standing it on a horizontal place according to Precautions
for I nstalling This Product ( p.5).
Use a atacched stand when you use the PTE1120 in the vertical direction.

Coupling unit should be connected directly to the wall socket because of
avoiding the degradation of the system performance. Other equipment should
be connected to other wall sockets on other place. If you need to connect PC
etc. to the same wall socket, you can use the extra power outlet on coupling
unit. The maximum current of the extra power outlet is 4A.



A LAN cable and modular cable are not included in the package.

Coupling unit should be connected directly to the wall socket because of
avoiding the degradation of the system performance. Other equipment should
be connected to other wall sockets on other place. If you need to connect PC
etc. to the same wall socket, you can use the extra power outlet on coupling
unit. The maximum current of the extra power outlet is 4A.

The following setup is required for USB connection .
1. Install USB driver of the attached CD in your PC.
( Click Setup.exe of the attached CD for setup)
2. Connect the USB cable to your PC.


Use attached USB cable(1.5m). A modular cable is not included in the
package.

Power On/Of f
Turning the Power on
1. Confirm all the necessary cables except for the extra power outlet of coupling
unit are connected.

2. Connect the plug of coupling unit to the wall socket you can plug or unplug easily
in your room.

3. Confirm Power LED in front of the PTE1120.

Power lamp on

The PTE1120 is a precision device. Turning the power on or off in a
short term may damage the power supply. Take at least three
seconds interval for turning the power on again after turning the
power off.


Turning the Power off
1. Unplug the plug of coupling unit from the wall socket.
